Thanks...I've gotten it to work...I just have to be diligent. What about the railings? Are they supposed to be recolor-able?

One more reason to install a software that can hadle rar archives

Seriously, the server space is limited, if we all would post double attachments (zip and rar), MTS2 would soon break up!
We don't want this to happen, do we?

EDIT:
As for one, this is my contribution: a completely semi-transparent glass staircase. You'll find the package for download in post #1.

MANNNNNNNNN Numenor - ya beat me to the punch! I was going to ask for some transparent staircases in your glass walls post ... but figured I would do a search first and ... here you are doing it already!!!! EEEEESH! LOL

Now, since I have a house made completely of glass, is it ok to throw stones?

Hello! I wanted to tell you how wonderful this is! I just discovered that some of the stairs are not recolorable, and that was such a shock. I was wondering if you had it in the plan to maybe make the wooden stairs recolorable? That would really be great. Mean while, I am going to enjoy the heck outta these! :O)

I bow to your Talent and Creativity!

Numenor,

Hi, first I want to tell you how much I appreciate all the wonderful things you have created for the sims. Thank you!

Second. I am simply a player, I don't know how to create or recolor. So when I saw your wonderful stairs, and the directions were so user friendly, I figured this was something I could add to my game. Just unrar and add to the download folder.

I did that, just like I add other custom content, for the holy smoke stair, the wrought iron stair, and the wood stair.

Nothing shows up in my game! I put them in a separate folder in my download folder, and absolutely nothing. Are they to be treated like clothing?

Can you possibly point me in the right direction, so I can enjoy these wonderful creations? Any advice or help would be most graciously be appreciated.

thank you

That's a common mistake...

My stairs are identical to the original Maxis stairs; only, mine are recolourable. Basically, installing my package, you simply enable the ability of the stairs to be recolourable.

Therefore, you can't see a custom stair in the catalog: you only see the original Maxis one. But if you create or download a recolour for those stairs, you can finally change the colour of the stairs themselves (this is not possible with the original "unpatched" verion: you can install as many recolours as you want, but you won't be able to change the stairs colour).

ok, so if I did it right, then i should see recolored options when I click on it. Just like one sees recolors of other objects added to the game?
I downloaded all your recolors, and some of the ones from other creators, all from mts2, and put them in the game at the same time. No recolors showed up either.
So, to sum up, I downloaded your three stairs, numerous recolors of each, unrared them and added them to a stair folder in my download folder.
All I got was the original, or maybe it was your recolorable mesh, but no recolors. And I really love the white/rusty one you did for the wrought iron stair.
So what am I doing wrong? I have the EP, does that make a difference? Or should they not be in a separate folder within the download folder? Seems like I'm the only one with this problem. I think I might need some more help.
Thank you

I finally got it! Sorry for being so dense........First you place the recolorable stair mesh, ( which looks exactly like the Maxis one) then you click on the design tool.....and there they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you doesn't quite cover it, for the beautiful recolorable stairs, and your help. You are terrific!

The design tool is the one that gets selected when you press "R" while in buy mode.

Are you sure you have read the special instruction about how to apply the recolours? You need to perform a particular procedure, explained in post #1 (see also the pictures attached to that post).
