It will also help you in installing your files. You will be able to preview some content before installing. It has built in unrar and unzip routines, as well as possibility of installing dozens of files with single click.

For more information, please see the official website at:

The newest version recognizes 64-bit and the Ultimate Collection, thanks to abluescarab.

- The Sims2Pack Clean Installer is released under the GNU General Public License.
- The program uses some DLLs from DatGen and SimPE; they are included in the installation.
- You need the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0:

To install, just download and unzip it. Run the installation EXE from the unzipped location.

If you would prefer a no-install version, download and extract everything. You will have to set the file associations yourself. Here's a brief explanation of how to set up the no-install version:

To have the Sims2Pack Clean Installer install your CC into a non-default location, here are some suggestions:

If you always want to have the Sims2Pack Clean Installer install your CC into a non-default location, please see this post:

For multi-install, please see this post:

I have included the source code for the latest version in There is no need to download this file unless you are a C# programmer who wishes to look at or modify the code.

Please report any problems with this new version in the Sims2Pack Clean Installer forum. Be sure to mention which version you are using.

How To Help:
The most important thing is to let me know if you have any problems. I have a limited ability to do testing, so I'm hoping that people will tell me when things go wrong.

Specifically, if you notice that a piece of CC is incorrectly identified, or has other incorrect information, please let me know. If possible, a copy of the CC (or a link to the download) may help me to find the bug.

I am not personally familiar with 7 or 8, but flipping back through the thread shows a post by Mootilda (#507, direct-linking to posts seems to be wonky), saying that, as far as she knew, .NET 4.0 is backwards compatible with .NET 2.0.

Anyway, what I would suggest is just trying to run it. If you have a version of .NET that is backward compatible with 2.0, it should work OK. If you have problems, you can try downloading 2.0 here

This would help alot of us that are wondering if we should do a backward leap to .Net 2.0 or if we can try it without it first. I think it would be a good idea to make this a sticky at the top of the post.

I just got a new computer with Windows 7 64-bit service pack 1, and it won't let me install clean installer--it says it is not compatible. Is there a way around this? I hope someone can help me because I've been wanting to get back into playing Sims 2 again and this is the computer I'm stuck with for now. =/

Can someone please help me?

I cannot update this... and my sims game skins are doing weird things.

See, my problem is ... the "uninstall.exe" file SOMEHOW disappeared out of the programs folder, so I cannot uninstall to update. What do I do? I re-downloaded the version that I had (I know, I'm a bit behind) but there is no way for me to get the exe file from it... because when I open it says I need to uninstall first. Well duh.

I don't know what to do. Could someone please help? I looked around for other people who may have had this problem, and found none. I did not delete the uninstall file, it just vanished. I haven't used Sims2Pack Clean Installer in awhile, so there is no reason for it to have went missing.

Thank you.

I'm not sure if anyone has told you this but Mootilda passed away september 2014. I am not sure if you will get any help on this or not.
This program only works on windows and all that you have to do is download the file that says installer. Then drag it to your desktop and start the installer
