Sims2Pack Clean Installer is causing an unusual problem for me. My OS is Win7.
When this program is installed, it won't let me burn CD's.
Here's a pic of when I try to burn some MP3 data CD's by dragging folders onto my "D" drive, which contains a blank CD ready for burning:

Note the two Sims2Pack Clean Installer windows that pop up that prevent me from continuing with the burn procedure.
Any suggestions?

Do you have instructions for what and how to use this mod? I installed, loaded my mods but I see no install like on the pics, just the files plus a whole lot highlighted light or dark red and I don't know what it means.

I can't install this - when I unzip the file, it appears in the unzipped location for a second and then disappears. Does anyone know what to do? Thanks!

Update: I think the problem is that this file has a low reputation with Norton, so it gets deleted as a potential threat. I know this file is a few years old; can someone please confirm that it is safe? I can probably set it as an exception, but I don't like disagreeing with Norton (it's usually right!).

Short Form Answer: Yes, this download/program is 100% safe

Hello, New Simmer. I had come across your post a while ago and I was hoping that soon someone would test out this little experiment for the both of us because I was having the same exact questions as you. But alas, I recently took up the daunting decision, on my own, to disregarding Norton's rating of this particular download, and I can tell you with certainty that the installer is indeed completely safe to download. I believe Norton gave it a low rating because of the pop-up download process that comes before downloading the program onto your computer rather than the program itself. Even after installing this download, I made sure to have Norton do a full scan of my computer and nothing malicious or suspicious was found at all.

I have no problem wanting to detail you how to exclude this program from Norton's distrust, but I don't want this post/comment to be too long since all you asked was for a check up of whether this program is safe or not. If you need help with how to exclude it, definitely comment back and I will be glad to help. Other than that, I hope this was helpful and that you feel more secure about its safeness. Toodleloo and Happy Simming! :D

I have Win 7 32 bit and have no problems with Clean installer. Another simmer has Win 7 64 bit and is having trouble getting CI to work.

Help! I was trying to disable some duplicate packages using 1.6.22.0 but every time I click "update" I get this message:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Sims2Pack Clean Installer\url.txt
Starting Web Update
Connecting to: http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/15/
Checking Version
Error connecting to http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/15/version.txt
Could not connect to http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/15/

***Edit to add that the packages appear to have been disabled despite the error message, which I am still receiving.

Hello, I used this once and it worked wonders but now something seems to have gone wrong...my sims and homes aren't showing up. They have also been named as "Sims2InstallablePackages". Any advice? or have you ever seen this issue before? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Default Windows 10
It works great in Windows 10. I have a Windows 10 upgrade from Win 8 and I have no problem using this program. I started out playing Sims3 when I got my new computer, but I found I didn't like some things it does so I tried Sims 2. I haven't found any problems using any player programs like Clean Installer and others. I am so grateful for this program and Sims 2 Categorizer http://modthesims.info/t/179139.

So I'm an old member, getting back into Sims 2. I can't for the life of me figure out how to work the Clean Installer... Feeling really dumb, but there simply is no install button that shows for me. 'enable' on mods doesn't do anything. 'moving' them to downloads... didn't move them. it just made it so the program can't find them anymore in the folder they're in.

I'm on Windows 10...
