While I never understood the hotdog-bun dilemma (my mom's always bought hotdogs in packages of 8 and buns packs of 8), I can see how this is useful. :D

Because of a hack that allows me to have up to 50 sims in the house, I have a bit more sims than 8. Can you make something like this for 16 sims or something?
Or can I just change that number in your package (I saw it varies between 3 and 7 in the package itself.)
Is it possible to make this for custom foods as well?

The only number that's changed is in line B (11 in decimal). That's the constant that indicates the number of servings when the meal is created.
Also in the package, I changed the line that says "stack size" in the tuning BCON that's not linked to a specific food (this allows Sims to pick up a greater number of dishes).
Yup, it's not that hard- just tedious.
I don't see why it wouldn't work for any custom foods as well.
One thing I thought of was making different numbers of servings for different meals in a group (breakfast, lunch. dinner). I'm getting sick of leftovers in my smaller families.
Good luck. PM me if you run into problems.

Ok, thank you for the quick reply.
I really like expanding my knowledge in modifying things like this.
I changed everything to 16 and the "stack size" to 20. As there can be sixteen plates to clean up now.
I really like leftovers actually. That's way easier for late working parents and for kids.
I'll let you know how it worked out as I'm testing it now in my game.
Maybe it's better to continue this conversation in PM.

Yeah, this always annoyed me, too...move a family of four into a neighborhood, have someone serve a meal when the neighbors show up to welcome them, and someone goes hungry. Stoopid Maxis. Anyway, thanks for a much needed and greatly appreciated game mod.

I'm signed in and every time I try to download the mod, it says I'm signed in as a guest. I don't know if it's a website problem or a glitch with this particular mod.

My stats are showing a few downloads per day of this mod, marshabruenig, so some people are able to get to it, leading me to believe the problem must be on your end.
You may want to check the Site Questions and Issues forum.
Also, Variable Meal Servings is a more versatile mod that allows you to set the servings to several different amounts and change it in game whenever you want.
Good luck
