Hi Everybody!

Here is another house (after many hesitations).During the hot summer days I needed some fresh air and made an absolutly non realistic aristocratic Datcha, just for an old russian touch.
My starting point was : “Doctor Zhivago”.I am in love with this old romantic movie, with its wonderful half abandoned datcha.I tried my hand at adapting the roofing. Then my “work” was very limited because I didn’t want to use lots of custom content.

Its a big lot:6x5.Very expensive .Approximately 300000 simoleons.

- Ground floor: Entry and Staircase.Bathroom.Kitchen.Formal Diningroom.Livingroom. Swimming Pool in the blue Pavillon.
- First floor: Spacious area just upstairs.Library/Study room.Master Bedroom.Another Bedroom.Bathroom.
- Top floor: Unfurnished.I needed it because of the roofing. You can decorate it if its not too challenging for your computer.
--------------------
In order to install this lot you need all expansion packs (Sorry. They are all in my game).
--------------------
CUSTOM CONTENT
1) Maybe you’ll need Numenor’s “Unleveled Walls”.I am sure that I used them during several steps of this “work”.THANK YOU,Numenor. This Must Have is here:

http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=59793
2) I made:
*Some Recolors :

- Roof and Fences. With a RANDOM GUID .Please, download the file
“Recolors” .It will be useful if you have any problem.
- Gate.
- Columns.
- Window.
- A Staircase and some Russian Icons for the Inside decoration.

*Some Walls,Floors and Groundcovers.(Some groundcovers were finally not needed, but its impossible to remove groundcovers from a lot, otherwise the game would crash.Sorry again!)
Hope I didn’t forget anything. And Thanks to all wonderful Sims-Teachers who provided precious tutorials.

Not sure if you’ll like this strange house.Maybe some of you with “strange taste”....Thanks for reading this looong thread!
And finally: Happy Simming! Hélène

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

Fantastic, I love the shape, the colour, and what you've done with the roofs and fencing, all colour co-ordinated with the lovely pattern design for the exterior.
You make such beautiful buildings and I've got to have this one too :D

It is lovely. I love Russian architecture - all those elaborate roofs! Thank you.

I've never been married, but I tell people I'm divorced so they won't think something is wrong with me.

It's great, especially the roof. And it must have been a hard time to do your own recoulors of all the stuff you needed. I like the garden, too...
All in all I think your house is very inspiring for me...
Greetings, Katha

I’m going to echo the previous comments by adding that I admire your creative use of combining the various roof shapes. The effect is elegant and reminiscent of Russian architecture, and your recolors only serve to accentuate it further. Great job.

Thanks again for your comments.

PeachCat,I think I can understand your reaction.Of course if you're russian you dislike this lot.And you're right, its crazy. But maybe you misunderstand an important point. You know,I don't state that its a russian house. Its just a crossing point between "Doctor Zhivago",my old dreams from old Russia (just in my imagination),several books that I did read, many movies..... and the limits of my building skills. With an exception for this last point: Nothing real. Just some refreshing air for some hot summer days..."Gone With the Wind"...

Even the datcha built for the movie "Zhivago" was fake (but this one was wonderful!),since all decors were built in Spain. Thanks anyway for your post ,maybe it will help me to improve.

Mehrlicht,

you've done an amazing job here! The roofing looks just perfect, so well balanced. You've truly managed to capture the right tone here, even if the original Zhivago decors were made in Spain. (Great movie, Classic!)
Whatever you do, please don't sell your building skills short, as I read in one of the comments here. Like I said, like most of us actually said: it looks just amazing.

Love Maltha. See you around at Komosims.

Babboo: Thanks so much.
Tsungsha : Family Fun is installed in my game, but I am nearly sure that I didn't use any F.F object in this lot.I think that I just used a table from the Christmas Pack for the formal diningroom. Hope this will not be a problem for you.

Hi Mehrlicht, I'm surprized having missed this great lot from you, jumped here today and what? a russian lot-which-is-not-really-russian-because-the-domes-are too-big or something else. You did a great building, inspired by your creativity and fantasy, who can discuss this? Anyway, hope you're working on a simil-japanese project! Kiss and ciao.
