Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
I saw a couple of recolors for the pet bird, so I thought I'd make one of a bird I used to own, a sun conure!

I've tested it in my own game, so it should have all the functions of Maxis' birds, just different colors.

*Thanks to Numenor, I wouldn't have figured out where the texture file was without instructions*

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

I love it. I used to have one (but he was more blue, green, and orange). His name was Fred "nods".

Your yellow and black bird is so pretty.

Update: July 2009-I am back now to make invisible and tranparent recolors again in sims 2. You can pm me if you want your objects to be invisible and transparent from now.

Had a friend that had one once, it use to sleep in the palm of his hands when he took it out of it's cage and sat down to watch tv :D

You did a really great job on this little guy, SilverFoxie! I'd have my Simmies purchase one if the birds would only live longer... or better yet, never die. He'll definitely go into my Sim's Pet Store though

This is absolutely awesome! I don't have a bird myself, but I always oggle over a pair of Sun Conures that I always see at my local Petsmart. lol I'm going to download it so my Sims don't have to suffer the same fate as I. lol ^_~

Beautiful job. Looks just like my little baby Calypso. Only problem I see, I dunno if you can change it... but real sun conures are half that size XD. Is the size default for all parrots in the Sims, or can you change their size? Other than that great job!

I'm aware of the size issue, since I used to have a Sun. I'm sorry to say that there is no way to change the size that I am aware of.

What about the thousands of wonderful men and women who are fighting this war without any of the credit or the glory that always goes to those lucky few who just happen to get shot?

Thanks so much, suns are such beautiful conures. It really is too bad Maxis only made one size bird (so much for budgies!). I have a green-cheeked conure myself. He is one violent, spoiled-rotten brat, but I love him!
