Title: 175 Main Street, Starter Lot with a sun parlor room.
Category: Starter House

Lot size: Small 3x2 lot
Price: $12,395
Furnished: No.

Here is a little starter house that could accommodate a family of three to four Sims. It was made on the smallest lot (3x2) and has an open area plan for the living room (also the Sun Parlor), dinning area and mini-kitchen. Has two double bedrooms (one slightly larger than the other) and one bathroom. Lot has enough room for future expansions or renovations. It’s not furnished because I wanted it to be affordable to any single Sim or family that wants to buy it, anyway, I’ve included screenshots of what the house would look like furnished.

This house was made using only the core game (that means no expansion pack is necessary to use it in your game) and has already been tested in game by the Burb Family, although it does have one custom content included which was necessary to create the Sun Parlor effect and that is the clear transparent tile created by Rgiles http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=34012 .

Thank you to tkdjunkie for pointing me in the right direction via the community tutorial listings and to LoreLotteS for providing an easy to follow tutorial of how to add a sun parlor to this lot.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

Wonderful starter! It's a bargain too, considering the sun parlor. I love the conservatory effect!

Thank you for all the nice comments you guys. Glad you liked the house as I was a bit apprehensive at first to upload it here at MTS2 or anywhere else on the web for that matter.

I really love this house and I recently started playing in it but my sims can't use stuff placed under the sun parlor. They can't even sit on couches they're placed like in the picture shown on this very site. Is it just me or has anyone else experienced this? Cause I really like this house but it's kinda annoying that I have to put the couch somwhere else, tell the sim to sit on it and then place it under the sun parlor again. And I have to do the same thing when I want to use the phone etc...

You can only use the area with the green carpeting under the sun parlor roof, the rest you can fill with decorative stuff by using the move objects cheat. I hope this solves your problem

I agree and I would like to add that in seasons when it rains puddles form where the sun parlor is and when it snows the snow accumulates there i mean really, i built a snowman in the house!!! :google:
