Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.

Hello everyone! I've been absent for quite a while, busy with school and lots of projects this summer! Finally I've been able to get another lot uploaded here--this one is called Contemporary Escape (shut up, I'm not creative). I named it so because, well, it's a contemporary home and I envisioned it in the country surrounded by lots of trees and clean air. I like to imagine that this home was built by a couple that is well traveled, but ready to settle down for a while and raise a family. The interior is decorated with a wide range of styles from Moroccan to minimalist. I hope you will enjoy the mix of furnishings

Lot Layout:

- Formal living room downstairs with room for a fireplace
- Formal dining
- Kitchen with seating for three at the breakfast bar
- Family room/game room on 2nd level
- Office
- 4 bedrooms
- 3 bathrooms
- One car garage
- Lots of balcony and patio space

The front of the house has a faux chimney because I didn't the chimney to go down to the first level, which is unavoidable with Maxis fireplaces. I didn't want to include any custom objects in this house, but you may want to download a chimney-less fireplace, I've seen a few on MTS2.

Click the thumbnails below to see interior pictures:

Note: The deck chairs that are turned diagonal are decorative and not usable. You can simply turn them forwards in buy or build mode to make them usable.

I hope you enjoy playing this lot!

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

I don't want to disappoint anyone, but about the fireplace chimneys - you can put a fireplace anywhere, then turn on moveobjects and simply delete parts of chimney you don't want with SledgeHammerTool. I found this out accidentally. I thought that it's nothing new, sorry. But house itself of course is interesting

Wow! Beautiful work, Coke! You really hit this one out of the park. I like the mix of brick and stucco as well as the mix of roof heights. This lot looks simple and pure yet complicated and interesting, at the same time.

TJ!! It's great to see you around again and it's great to see you totally havn't lost your touch with these modern designs. The colours are great, I would never of considered puting that kind of brick on a modern house but it really works!
