Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
A little slice of beauty and tranquility amid the grime and hustle of downtown..."

Are your apartment dwelling sims dying of scurvy, with no room for a garden and no access to fresh fruits and veggies? Would your lazy sims rather stand there waving their arms and shouting at you than do a few minutes of gardening?

Not to worry! Just have them hop right into their Hummer and spin down to the community garden, where they can take a break from the dust and stress of downtown and harvest all the fresh produce they can eat.

The best part is that as long as the lot is not owned by one of your sims, it will always revert back to the way it was saved... so, your sims can go there and harvest produce, then when they go back next time or when a different sim goes there, all the plants will be back and ready to harvest again. All types of fruits and veggies are available to harvest, and all the plants are in thriving condition.

If you consider this cheating and don't want your sims to get free fruits and veggies, they can still visit and enjoy the lot - just don't tell them to harvest anything. Sims seem to like just hanging out in the garden, so it's usually a pretty happening place in my game.

Rambling about compatibility: There is stuff from Seasons and Bon Voyage in this lot, but nothing from any other expansions. I left all the EPs checked as required, because they were all installed when I built the lot. My understanding is that you may or may not be able to play the lot if you don't have all the EPs, but you will need at least Seasons, Bon Voyage, and Nightlife. You don't need any stuff packs.

There's a fair amount of CC in this lot, but this stuff is all so nice you won't regret having it in your game. My heartfelt thanks go out to all these creators who are so generous with their beautiful stuff!

A particular thanks to MaryLou for her fantastic mini lot templates found here: Lots of Lots - Mini Community Lots (You don't have to download them for this lot to work, but you should download them anyway cause they are "lots" of fun :P)

Pictured But Not Included:
bibidoublezero's Recoloration of the Maxi's Ladybug loft in woods is shown in the pictures above, but didn't want to package with the rest of the lot, so follow the link to download it and thank you to the creator!

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

I agree, a great idea. Thanks for the hard work. This will come in handy for the sims who don't have a big yard to have there own garden.

Yaaaay! This is wonderful. Reminds me of the community gardens where I grew up (yes, I was raised by filthy hippies...and proud of it haha). Anyway, lovely lot. Thank you so much for sharing.

Why this is brilliant. It will go perfectly in my beach/mountain/farming neighborhood, where many of my sims are happy to be hippies. I don't know why I didn't think of this, but I'm so glad that you did! Thank you.

Thank you. This is great. I did something similar with the park in Bluewater Village. This will go nicely in the downtown hood.

What a great lot! I wish I could put this lot in my game, but since I am a Mac user, I don't have all the required expansions. (I tried, but after everything I could think of, it still crashed)

You have inspired me to try building a similar lot, and I was wondering if I could implore you to share some tips with me - specifically, how to get the crops in (I assume I need a Sim to plant, and then move them out and rezone?)

And, how to get everything ripe at the same time before I change the lot zoning.

Thanks so much for this idea!!

What I did was build the lot on a community lot to the point where I was ready to add the harvestable plants. Then, I had a sim buy the lot (need the OFB ep for that). My sim went to the lot and planted everything... I originally had him tending the plants but I figured out halfway through that you can cheat. I THINK you turn on boolprop testingcheatsenabled true and then press shift and click on the plant and select "make harvestable" but it's been awhile so I'm not 100% sure on that part. Anyway, once the plants are all ready, have your sim go home and sell the community lot, then it is ready to go. You might be able to do it without OFB by making the lot a residential lot then using cheats to change it to community. Good luck!

Thank you so much! I will try the testing cheats on the lot I am playing with, and if that doesn't work, I'll try the OFB method.

This is such a great idea!! It makes the neighborhood so much like a real neighborhood!

I like this lot. Several of my sims went there over several game weeks. Then, I had a sim get stuck behind bushes and went to the lot in build mode and removed them. Came back, plants were dead with no fruit. Bulldozed the lot and put a duplicate in from the sim bin. Dead plants. Reinstalled the package, put in a new garden in a new place in the hood. Dead plants. Redownloaded, installed, put in a new place in the hood. Dead plants. Any ideas what is wrong? This lot worked 'for a while'.

I'm sorry, I'm really not sure what could be causing that... it's so weird that the plants were dead even after you bulldozed and replaced it. If you delete the file you have and redownload it, that may work.

I made a community garden but it was NOTHING like this! Your garden is so beautiful i want to go and sit in there myself! :-))

I cannot find the 'modern fencing' - which i would love to get for my farming sims. Does anyone know where i can get this?
