Hi thanks for the beautiful work you've done .. I am eager to start using it but am having a problem with the 2 lots that extend into the water .. they don't seem to want to let me put them in their respective spots. I know you created them especially for Desiderata Valley but can you tell me how to get an oversized lot placed into a spot where it extends into the water .. Thanks .. all the other ones worked and (I tried using the 'modify NeighborhoodTerrain on" ... '^' cheat that you asked the other person having a problem to try?) Help ..

I'm having trouble placing the beach lots, too. It's Desiderata Valley, right?

I like your two beach lots and tried to install them in a neighbourhood with beaches and even using modifyNeighborhoodTerrain on and result : no way to get those lots installed.

I guess you used the modifyNeighborhoodTerrain cheat yourself before packaging your two beach lots and I guess that it causes people to not be able to install them.

A few PUBLIC instructions or maybe a link to a custom neighbourhood you used (you only know) would have been much appreciated. Thank you !

Thank you Liza for your remark!
Now I added a note for the neighborhood to both beach lots I made.

I placed them in the original Desiderata Valley without any cheat, but after some people reported that they couldn't place them, I searched for this problem and found the cheat, but I never used it before...

But I found that there seem to be problems with beach lots in general, see this thread: http://www.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=295998 where caddy lincoln said:

Note: Beach lots require certain tricks to fit in, I usually place an empty lot of the same size of the downloaded one before attempting to put it in place, it helps to "smooth" the hood terrain. Doesn't work everytime though, because sometimes the angle of inclination between the default lot and the custom lot may be not the same, due to variations on neighborhood base terrain, but works most of the time for me.

and Larsson 1970 posted a link to http://www.thesimsresource.com/tuto...%20Beach%20Lots
Caupi had also problems like this before, as explained in his thread here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=250696

I'm very sorry that there are so much problems

Thank you for your reply and sorry for the delay I got your message and went to the site indicated by Larsson 1970.

Actually I recently created a community beach lot based on simsconnection's St Tropez 2007 (I wanted the same with a beach lol) and I offer myself somewhere else this community beach lot for free download. The only issue I had with my beach community lot St Tropez is that it was too big in size and I needed to re-furnish with Maxis only. (Sims wanting to go back home with a taxi didn't and the lot crashed with simsconnection CC lol !)

I can't tell what issue people may have from downloading a lot but as I download quite many myself, all I'm sure of is that a beach lot will fit in a twikki neighbourhood and two other ones (crescendisland included).

I don't play around much with neighbourhoods codes anymore because one caused a neighbourhood crash (lol). I know there's here a Japanese styled hotel which is a beach lot that I once downloaded and it fitted perfectly well in a twikkiisland neighbourhood - one that I used to create a neighbourhood because I never play with Maxis Sims anyway (lol).

I will try again with your beach lots after having studied the tutorial and as it might take a while I will anyway let you know.

I am in love with this community project. And while I hoard CC like the best/worst of them, kudos for creating these without CC and making beauties and authentic-looking French architecture from what's in-game.

I've been playing DV before I chanced upon your creations, so the terrain was already changed. I love, love, love your Promenade stuff, and along with Black Orchid's French buildings, I wanted to transform my DV into a little French quarter. BUT there was the trouble with the beach lots.

GOOD NEWS: I researched and discovered Mootilda's HoodReplace. http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=279992&c=1

What I did was create a new neighborhood using Desiderata Valley's terrain.
And then I used HoodReplace to copy this new hood's terrain to the original DV. (Copied/fixed elevation of terrain and roads only. And I backed up!).

Et voila! I've since placed your Frenchy beach lots without trouble! YES YES YES! YAY! I also followed the advice about NOT turning the beach lot when you take them from the bin, of course. Maybe that helped, too.

And did I say thank you? Thank you! *gromps*

I've been trying to use your beach lots in Bluewater Village, and initially had some trouble placing them.
The problem seems to be that both of your beach lots require a very low road elevation, and the control offered by the modifyneighborhoodterrain tools isn't fine-grained enough, i.e. even if you lower the road until it is only one step above water level, the lot remains red when trying to place it.
The solution that finally worked was this:
- Lower the road until it has just been submerged underwater.
- Place the lot. The road will stay submerged, however the main building area of the lot gets raised slightly and is now just above the water level.
- Delete the lot again.
- Between the road and the water line, you've now got a stretch of terrain which is above the water and has just the right elevation. Use the flatten tool to raise the road above the water level again. If necessary, adjust the underwater terrain as well.
- Place the lot again, this time - hopefully - for real.

Other than that, thanks for your very nice beach lots!
