Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.

With this career, you can live the life of a Fortune Teller! This career is EP compatible, will not overwrite any Maxis or custom careers (because it has it's own GUID), and is compatible with the base game. This career has 9 chance cards completed, and has been spell and grammar checked. The custom icon made by me has a transparent background.

Here is an example of a chance card.

Here is a rundown of the career levels:

Bohemian Roamer days: Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sun wages: 126

As a Bohemian Roamer, you must roam around the towns in Sim City performing your magic tricks , and giving palm readings.

Freelancing Psychic days: Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun wages: 154

You are still developing your skills as an up and coming young psychic. You should stargaze from telescopes to get information on your astrology star charts, and increase your logic skills.

Able Astrologer days: Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun wages: 210

It's your job to give accurate Astrology readings to your patrons. Keep up your charisma points in order to succeed in this stage of your career.

Practicing Palm Reader days: Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun wages: 252

You are a Practicing Palm Reader. This means you must read palms for a living. Be sure to study up on all the techniques for excellent palm reading. It's time to think about your creativity skills now.

Efficient Aura Specialist days: Mon, Fri, Sat, Sun wages: 385

As an Efficient Aura Specialist, it's your job to teach others how to read auras in classes that you teach at the community center. You should practice painting so that you can understand colors and how they relate to each other, as well as reading up in the textbook Your Inner Aura so that you know what you are teaching.

Sanguine Stargazer days: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat Sun wages: 392

The life of a Sanguine Stargazer involves lots of tedious studying of star charts. You will be looking at maps for the stars for hours on end. You will be giving customers accurate astrology readings and forecasts for the entire year.

Potion Mixer days: Mon, Fri, Sat, Sun wages: 613

You have learned the art of mixing potions. You have used your experience so far to come up with some pretty incredible potions. Some of your potions include an invisibility potion, and a kaching potion dealing with the increase of money.

Glass Ball Conjurer days: Mon, Fri, Sat, Sun wages: 788

As a Glass Ball Conjurer, you need to find the best deals on Crystal balls, and give accurate forecasts for your clients. Be sure to keep up your creativity, charisma, and logic skills especially in this crucial stage of your career.

Telepathic Trainer days: Tue, Wed, Thurs, wages: 933

As a Telepathic Trainer, you are now working on fine tuning your third eye. Logic skill increase is a must. You should practice chess with others to see if you can get a link with them.

Master Fortune Teller days: Fri, Sat, Sun wages: 1,400

Ah the life of a Master Fortune Teller. This is what you have been waiting for most of your life as a Fortune Teller. You will be going from mansion to mansion giving readings to the rich and famous, and living with them from time to time in their guest houses.

I like this idea. I have gypsy clothing for gypsies, and there are lovely gypsy caravan homes available too. What I don't have is a crystal ball. If you could put a small note in your thread about how you got that picture of the lady holding the crystal ball, that would be great, thanks.

I made a default replacement NPC using this tutorial

You should probably call the gypsy matchmaker on the phone to see her name instead of using sim browser, and I made her from an elder into an adult by selecting life stage: adult, ignore the part about the YACAS! (She should be made in CAS! screen) and the University in that tutorial. You might have to sign up for that website to view pages there, I'm not sure.

Quick tip: Rom/Romany (gypsy) does NOT equal Romanian. That's a person who lives in the country called Romania. Please check your facts in the future, yes?

Rom/Romany = Gypsy
Romanian = From Romania

And I'm pretty sure it's not all about palm reading and star gazing.

Geez.

maiamorgen, Regardless of how inaccurate this upload actually was, I see now that the uploader has uploaded a new career and changed a lot of the descriptions, etc. Let's try and keep comments based on the new version.

Default Great career
You know, despite how offended people have felt and the rude comments made, fortune telling and most everything you have included in the career was very prevalent in the gypsy culture. My own family has a gypsy side and that's how the life was. I think people are reading too much into it, which is not anything new. Don't worry about it. I think though for the "just in case" incidents its better to have changed it like you did.

Great career, though, either way.

Firstly, they weren't rude comments. They were firm and honest. If so much time is spent in making a career, put some forethought and research into it.

Secondly, a "gypsy side"? What does that mean? And your family speaks for an entire culture?

Thanks for the update though, jon.
