Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
A tiny shoebox-type house for a single sim or two, equipped will all the basics but no extras (and not really any room for them). This is very easy to expand though, you can just add a room or two off the kitchen without changing the rest.

1 x double bedroom
1 x bathroom
1 x kitchen/dining

It's very simple, but I hope it's still useful – most of my own sims don't have a lot of money when they move out, and since TS3 sims need more space to navigate than TS2 ones, I'm finding it surprisingly hard to build cheap enough houses for them.

Built on the smallest lot I have (16x18), so it can be rotated in any direction on every other lot. Playable from at least two static camera angles; two sides of the house would work as a street side.

Prices given below (F = Furnished; U = Unfurnished) are when placed on a regular 20x30 lot.

Please don't PM me with questions. Post questions/feedback about this particular house in this thread, generic build mode stuff in the Build Mode forum. Thanks.

Base Game content only. This house will look exactly like on the screenshots.

Lot Size: 2x2
Lot Price: 8.961§ F, 7.802§ U
Number of bedrooms: 1 Bedroom
Custom Content Included: None
Furnishings: Starter Furnishings
Special Flags: Not Applicable

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

I love these tiny houses, I hate playing big houses when I'm trying to do career sims... too distracting!

Thank you

Abandon ye boolprop and be saved, fellow simmers! Yay, my child, and verily go forth unto the land of non cheating. For I am the salvation, the glory of the anti-boolprop movement.

I absolutely love the challenge of playing with your houses. This one is, I think, the tiniest yet? I can't wait to try it out. Thanks for sharing with us.

Can sims watch TV when sitting on the chair near the wall?

This reminds me of some of the homes in coastal areas of NSW, Australia.

You're my inspiration for making little houses. I try to upload some of my owns, named Gnomia Lane starter series. But still, you're the best!

This is incredible. Under 9000 simoleans? Craziness. AND it has all the essentials, and doesn't feel too cramped, either (imo). You could easily upgrade the bed, stove, etc. and still stay under 16,500! Amazing house to start out a sim! Must stop gushing...
