Open underneath Maxis stairs with passage fixes

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
I really loved these no-supports versions of the Maxis basegame modular stairs, which were made by crocobaura. However, I was fairly annoyed that, despite all the space, objects, doors and windows still could not be placed under them.

They could still be placed underneath with the aid of the "moveobjects on" cheat; however, doors and a few certain objects placed this way were not usable.

I did some tweaking with SimPE, and now that problem is no more. Doors, windows, and all objects can now be placed under these stairs without the cheat, and are fully functional (Sims will no longer complain about route blockage).

This is great for people who want to be a little more creative with their building designs, or for those who are trying to be conservative with floor space.

I take no credit for this creation. I basically stole this idea from Lord Darcy, and credit goes to him for his instructions on how to alter the BHAVs. All of the credit goes to crocobaura, since these were made by her and all I did was plop the needed BHAVs into the files. This took me all of 10 minutes to accomplish.

All of these stairs are fully basegame compatible. I included all of crocobaura's stairs, with the exception of the "Holy Smokes" stairs since they already had the no supports fix by default.

These are only the package files. You still need to make the necessary changes to the "modularstairs" file in the Scripts folder in order for these to appear in the catalog, please refer to here and here for instructions on how to do so.

This is my very first upload here, so please let me know if I made any mistakes, or if anyone experiences problems.

Happy Simming!

Thanks! I wasn't aware of that (since I'm more a builder, rarely really "live" some sims), but it will be useful for the downloaders of my houses.

If I already had Crocobaura's versions before I don't have to change anything with the script files, right?

One dark day in the middle of the night, two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other

Do I need to re-install the scripts if I already have the crocabaura versions of the stairs? Do these overwrite crocabaura's stairs? Do I need to remove crocabaura's stairs when I put these in?

This is confusing the first time you install modular stairs, but after that it becomes easy.

Follow the linbk to crocabaura's stairs:
http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=233769
Download the stairs.
Unzip the download.
Now there arre two paths:
Without Scriptorium, copy the contents of the text file and add them to the end of this file:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Deluxe\Base\TSData\Res\Catalog\Scripts\modularstairs.txt
With Scriptorium, copy the text file . Go into your download folder and click on the modular stairs scriptorium link (in mine it has a weird little aqua and yellow icon). Then paste the text file into the list you get there.

Nope, no changes are needed to script files. I didn't do anything to them and they worked fine

Super useful idea! It's always nice to have more usable space, and less foot-stomping over inability to walk somewhere or use a door. Thanks!!

Thanks for these stairs! Finally they work now like they should have worked from the beginning and as originals made by EA.

Do I have to download Crocabaura's stairs or just these? and is this compatible with Scriptorium?

A bit outdated, but here goes. I managed to get crocobaura's stairs in my game, so I did something right, but I put your wooden stair fix .package in my Downloads folder (I only got the wooden ones) and it doesn't seem to work. Can't put anything under the stairs. This is a great idea and would be wonderful to have, help appriciated.
