I don`t know , hadn`t tried that, I expect they can , but they will jump through the top bed.

mabey a very stoupid question, but can they sleep on both beds?
Becouse if they do not, I don't see the point of dowloading and than its just nice for the pictures I make..

If its possible.. Then its super for my sims with a big family!!

yes both beds(top and bottom) are useable. Its just the animations which will be even more weird, when a sim gets in or out of the top bunk and another sim is in the bottom one. I`m working on changing the animations though.

I'm going to test it, sounds very original and interesting.
As a side note, please use some more descriptive filename for the packages: the shorter the name, the more chance there are of conflicts with other custom-made objects.

Yeah I`ve just noticed another thing in the package with the hashes to the gmdc files, will release another version later which should have less chance of conflicting with anything else.

I tried it, it looks absolutely lovely and works like a charm! The only thing (apart from the strange way they get into bed ) is that they don't sleep under the bedsheets, but on top of them. I'm not sure whether you knew that already

Great work though!

EDIT: blah, I just looked at the screenshots you made, and I see your sims also sleeps on the sheets Sorry...

Yeah that`s another problem at the moment. I know why they do this, just got to make some changes so that don`t.(which is going to take a bit of time)

In my first tests, the bed is working correctly (at least, it's working the way you described it... ).
It can be "made" by the maiden and the sims can sleep and relax on it.
One question about that "teleport" effect, that transfer the sim from one bed to the other: wouldn't be better if the shift in the sim position would be applied at the beginning of the interaction? I mean, if the sim would be "shifted" upwards while still standing, he would be in the right position for interacting with the bed (though his feet don't touch the ground... )

I`m working on doing this, just at the moment can`t seem to get it working. The game seems to ignore the height cordinate when starting the animation, can change the other two cordinates and the game will use them( like I can make the sim walk to and get in the other end of the bed etc), but any changes to height seem to only be aplied after the getting into bed animation is finished.

You should be able to recolour them (but please don`t release recoloured versions yet), All standard coloured beddings for the pine bed all seem to work on it, so I would think recolours do too, but haven`t tried.

edit: the bedding seems to be recolourable but not the frame, I`ll have to try to see why that is.

Hi Miche,

First of all, cheers on the bunk beds, they're great fun. I think once animation can be exported/imported to/from the game the possibilities will really be endless.

I wanted to ask you something, perhaps this is not the place to do so, but I also didn't want to PM you with this, se here goes.

How do you change the height of the sim when he's sleeping, so he doesn't sink through the bed?

I`d like to know what people think about the weird way the sims get into the top bed, is it something they can live with for now, or would you rather just not bother having bunk beds untill the animation problems are fixed ?

I`m asking because we are wondering if it`s worth making lofted beds, however these will have the same way (for now) for a sim to get into them , but as there will be no bed below them the animation will look even more strange.

Being more a modder than a gamer I personally don't mind the weird animation, plus I figure, once you have the objects made, changing the animation (once you can add custom ones) should be pretty easy. But on the other hand this beds could spread fast (especially if people start making recolors) and then lots of people would end up with bad beds.
