This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
I can not believe this hasn't been done before. Looking through MTS's music downloads, there are very few new pianos. There are a couple keyboards and a bunch of recolors, but very few new good looking pianos. I much prefer to give my sims a piano rather than give them a guitar or a bass, but I'm so tired of that awful redish antiquey salon piano. It looks nothing like what I grew up with. I want to give my sims my mom's piano, the one she played Fur Elise on and music from Star Trek, and the one where I struggled with my scales and later Greensleeves. That's a piano to me. This upload is dedicated to my mom. We'd been moving around a lot lately so we put the piano in storage and she has been without it for a year and a half now. Luckily, it's been scheduled to be brought home again.

The Daughters of Chimeway Upright Piano comes in a lovely Oak wood, but also is available in Walnut, Cherry, and an Ebony finish. It can be yours for the fair price of $2,500, coming in under the original by a thousand dollars.

Polygon Counts:
FaceCount: 1735
VertexCount: 2633

For reference, the Maxis piano is 3210/4220. For a four tile object, that's still within normal limits, but it's still a lot! My simplified version is half of Maxis.

Known Issues:
Because of how much shorter my mesh is, the tuning animation is a little weirder. See pic below. I don't find it to be too much of a problem because tuning isn't the main animation, so it doesn't get called all that often.

Additional Credits:
Creds to Frances Midlock, a LaFiesta Tech student turned Piano Virtuoso. And to Ninika for her outfit.

Thanks Mom for everything! You are my best friend and I know how much you love your piano, hopefully some of my simmies will feel the same about their new pianos, Frances does!

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Cute! Nice to see something from you again!

My cousin taught me how to play the piano...for a few months. I think I gave up.

Phaenoh I feel your pain I always thought the other piano recolors were either too flashy, too unnatural, or they wouldn't work properly with the later EP's. These are great thanks for making them. So judging by the first image these pianos will give you enthusiasm points too??? Great work.
Not actually evil.

I love the piano, it's beautiful! However, while testing it out, I noticed that I have sound when I choose the "Practice" option, but not when I use the "Perform". Could it be an issue on my side?

That sounds like a bug from an unpatched game. That was an issue with the Maxis piano as well. See if that helps.

This is wonderful. I love to get a piano for my sims, because it fills up fun so fast and I love listening to them play. And it´s so great to have some variation. The original piano really doesn´t fit in every home.

This piano looks so real! And I love the desciption where your mother played Fur Elise on and music from Star Trek, and the one where you struggled with Greensleeves, and how that was a piano to you. I would gladly give my sims this glorious piano that you dedicated to your mother. Thanks for uploading it... my sims will truly gets some use out of it.

Yaaaaaaaaaaay! It looks like my first piano, too, before I inherited my grandmother's baby grand. I have some recolors of the original that make it look slightly less saloon-y, but...yeah. And it's even nicer that it has sentiment behind it. I'll bet you love hearing Sims struggle with scales and "Greensleeves."

I want to know why Sims don't struggle with inversions...but that's just the pianist in me speaking.

But I'm not having an issue with the Maxis pianos, and as far as I know, I have patched the games. I'll look and check though.
