MaxoidMonkey's Alienware PC - TS4 Version

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
UPDATE March 9 2015: I discovered that this item had a small texture flaw in which the tower unit's colour was overspilling onto two corners of the base of the monitor stand, which I hadn't noticed in gameplay until today, so have fixed the the texture and replaced the original file with a fixed one. My most embarrassed apologies if you've already downloaded this - please re-download and let the new version overwrite the old. Be sure you're using the version dated March 9 and not March 8. Thanks!

Here's a TS4 conversion of MaxoidMonkey's classic Alienware computer from the old Sims 2 Exchange website. Having previously converted this for TS3, I thought it would be nice to carry this cute computer along to TS4 too.

It comes in the three recolours it originally came in for TS2: Green as above, and below, black and blue.

Good for doing a little hacking or modding:

Or for writing a few jokes or chatting on the web:

It costs 2000 simoleons and is found in the Computers section in Buy Mode.

A note about TS4 desk compatibility:
Desks in TS4, unlike the previous games, are all different shapes and sizes, and I had to modify this mesh a bit to get this computer to be reasonably compatible with most of them. Making this conversion made me realise this is probably why all the default PCs are small all-in-one styles. I had to make the keyboard smaller and move both the mouse position and the tower unit position to make this compatible with TS4 positioning. The PC will be OK with most desks, but with the ones with shelves or drawers at the back, there will be some clipping. If you find that too noticeable, then please use one of the plainer desks like those used in these screenshots.

Thanks for looking, hope you'll find this cute old classic PC useful.

My Sims 3 conversion of this object is here: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=497940

INSTALLATION:
Unzip the zip file and move the .package file to your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods folder.

I've completely replaced and updated the components but this is my Alienware case IRL. Thanks for bringing this over from the old game.

I've always liked this PC and I had an Alienware once, just not one which looked like this. I always like the vaguely sinister look of this one though. Thank you!!

Thank you so much. Finally I can have my PC in my game. I am just going to pretend it's a Alienware Aurora like my PC. I don't think my Sims will be coming off the PC anytime soon like me. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

this is great, I like alienware, can I just make 1 request? could you make an alienware laptop? so you can carry it around in your inventory and use it anywhere, I dont care if there is no animation of getting it out and or opening it, I can live with just dragging it out of the inventory to a table and then start using it, and the same if your out of the house somewhere like at the park or on vacation, or at a sim friends house and you have your laptop upgraded like ip spoofer for hacking, or more ram or better graphics, or all upgrades, that would be great, and if your sim friend has a comp, you may not want to upgrade there comp and wast time and simolians just for you to use theres, and if they want to use there comp when your on it, well see what I mean?

Hi, sorry, I don't take requests. For requests, there's the TS4 Creators Who Take Requests thread: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=533538

(ETA: It's possible I might make a laptop at some point, but it won't be Alienware or other known brand, more likely some sort of Steampunk thing of my own invention.)
