At first I thought people who were called weird were weird, but now I know it's the people who call people weird that are weird.

Truely stunning! I rarely (like maybe one other time), down load neighborhoods, but this one is just too special -- I've got to have it!

Wonderful job. Very beautiful!
And thanks for the tips on placing lots on slopes. I was hoping to find something like that.

You can find my lots and other creations on TSR.

What do you need to download for the neighborhood to work?

Thanks to all those that have left comments so far,
It makes it so much more rewarding when you hear appreciation for your efforts!

Bad Kay,
You need to download the zip file and extract the files, (one .SC4 type and five .png picture files)
Then just put all into your 'SC4Terrains' folder under:
My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/SC4Terrains

If you know how to get to your Downloads folder you need to go up one level of folders and you should be able to see the SC4Terrains folder.
Drop the 6 files into that directory and next time you load your game you need to choose to create a custom neighborhood.
Look for the file: Oceanhaven.SC4
Then choose terrain (lush etc), give it a name and select the tick.

The five images are used to show the neighborhood and the type of terrain you can choose from (lush-green, desert-light brown/tan, dirt-mottly brown, concrete-grey)

I hope that helps but reply again if this wasn't quite what you needed.

Happy simming,
Duds

Hi Secun687,

I guess first up I should ask if you are running a PC with windows ?

Next is whether you have successfully downloaded it to your harddrive.

The files are "archived" in zip format, which if you are using XP should be able to be 'unzipped' by double clicking on the file, ( Oceanhaven.zip ), You will need to put all the files to a place that you can find again.

Next a little about the Oceanhaven.sc4 file...
A neighborhood file is not like your normal download on this site for example:
name of file.package
It is not like a house file either where you can use Clean Installer to clean out unwanted items etc, for example
name of house.Sim2pack
It is basically a file that holds information that defines the height of land in the neighborhood (anything above a certain level is above water, while lower level are covered in water). It also has information on where the roads are.
The file extension for neighborhood terrain files is .sc4,
for this neighborhood the file name is Oceanhaven.sc4

There are also 5 files starting with Oceanhaven with a file extension of .png these are:
Oceanhaven.png
Oceanhaven_concrete.png
Oceanhaven_desert.png
Oceanhaven_dirt.png
Oceanhaven_lush.png
These are image files that allow you to see a small picture of the terrain in the neighborhood selection window (the one that you are first presented with when you start the game).

All the .png files and the Oceanhaven.sc4 file need to be put into the:
My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/SC4Terrains folder.
One way is to highlight the files, select copy (right click or via Edit menu) goto your My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/SC4Terrains folder, make sure you click on the folder and then choose paste (such as via the edit menu).

If you view the folder it should show all the Oceanhaven .png and .sc4 files somewhere in there.

then all should be good for your to start the game, choose to add a custom neighborhood, and select the Oceanhaven.sc4 file from the list presented. Continue with selecting a terrain type such as lush then give it a name and clikc the tick.....

Let me know how it goes !

Yes Duds it did work this time the oceanhaven did finally show up, however i just noticed that i did not see the waterfall when i went into the neighborhood. How can i download that or do i have to get the Hack for that to show up?

Update:Also I found the waterfall by numenor' again thanks for the very nice neighborhood.

Good to hear you got it to work,
I hope you enjoy it !

I used two waterfalls then place one of the big neighborhood rocks over the top to get the effect.

Happy simming !

Another great neighborhood Duds. I'm going to make this one my downtown area altough I don't think it would be possible to have an "uptown" on these islands. Oh well I'm not complaining XD
