Updated: 11th Aug 2006 at 11:43 PM - remove recolor - direct to new fridge
NOTE:
There is an improved Counter Culture refrigerator that I made at:
http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=181844
This refrigerator is a good refrigerator to recolor, because you can recolor the extra parts - the new one actually pulls it's colors from the Counter Culture surface, and has the correct handles.

Super-Recolorable Expensive Refrigerator
After downloading the fabulous set of "CounterCulture" counters and islands by MaryLou and Numenor, I was frustrated by the lack of a refrigerator for the set. I started out thinking this would be another simple recolor that I would only use myself, but to have a result which I found acceptable more work needed to be done. This was a "learn by doing" object, my first beyond a basic recolor, and I put enough work into it that I thought other people should get to enjoy it!
This object has been cloned from the "Ciao Time Bovinia Refrigerator Model BRRR". It has its own GUID. An existing subset has been made recolorable, and given a new UV Map, which makes the handle (2 parts, metal and color), the grill, the hinges, the door gasket, and the main interior color of the fridge easily recolorable. They were not recolorable on the original fridge.
The material definitions have been changed so that the refrigerator is no longer shiny, but matte like the Counter Culture surfaces. This package includes all five of the basic Counter Culture colors.
This object is BaseGame compatable - I recloned and recreated it so it would be and tested it (thanks Numenor for your guidelines)
It is fully recolorable. Please recolor it!
It can be found with the rest of the refrigerators when you are in buy mode.
It has 994 Vertices and 790 faces. Slightly fewer than the Maxis original.
Credits go to Maxis for most of this item. I simply altered one item a little, and added colors and textures from another item set.
I also need to thank the many people on this site who have written awesome tutorials, and who are willing to answer the questions of those of us who are new to this art.
Tools I used:
SimPE, PaintShop Pro, MilkShape, UVMapper, MeshTool, and of course no recolor is possible without the CEP!
Please recolor! Post the recolors anywhere, as long as you link back to this thread so that people can download the mesh, and send me a message so I can go look at your work! This item is more recolorable than the Maxis original, which is really the main benefit of this item over Maxis' original.
I didn't change the mesh, really. It's still Maxis' mesh. So I don't think I have any rights over it.
The file is called "DremeMynd_CounterCultureFridge.rar"

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below for more information.

What I'm Working On
I DO eventually intend to get back to the modular stair corners. Real life has happened, and distracted me from the virtual life of The Sims.
It's going to take a while for me to work back up to the corners. While you're waiting take a look at my other (although somewhat less spectacular) stuff!
