Renovated Cottage” - No EP - split level stairs - detailed garden

Important: This house is unfurnished, some furnish HAD to be added in the pictures to give you an impression of size and functionality. The outside however is complete!

If anyone notices some similarity with my last house “Miss Marple’s Cottage” it’s because there I desperately tried to put some splitleveling in this under 2o k section – and found that I just couldn’t. Frustrated as I was I made an extensive version where no costs were spared…..So here’s the completely full version, in fact completely redone and now with an exiting stair construction and the elaborate gardening that does the lot justice. In my opinion at least



Description

This cottage is completely renovated. On the first floor you’ll find a lowered dining room, bathroom and kitchen area. From there you have an open view to the study and living room area, blocked only by the dominant staircase.
On the second floor there’s the landing with a balcony and one small and one larger bedroom. The large bedroom has an adjoining tiny bathroom. From the dining room you can enter the garden. It’s rather exuberant and it might not be everyone’s taste, but it has one (or rather two) big advantages: it’s almost completely maintenance free and - where possible - low poly count plants were used. Even on my medium fast computer gameplaying went excellent.
To keep a straight foundation line, - in spite of the split levelling – I’ve made a new outside wall that combines a Maxis wall with the used “Fieldstone 35” from TabbyLou. The inside decoration is mostly Maxis stuff because people can decorate this house in a variety of tastes from classic to modern.



Since this house needs a lot of downloads I decided to include most of the custom content in this download. It has been completely cleaned of excess recolors, is hackfree, played, tested and all included content was selected using Patul’s “list of sites with a friendly redistribution policy”
Those that were unmentioned I looked up myself. Where there was doubt I kept hem in the ‘Custom Content not included’ – list. These you will have to download yourself.

Issues:
Only some minor ones!!!
A. With some slower computers the game might slow down a bit, but I expect this lot to be playable on any machine.
B. I’ve noticed in this lot that when Sims go to work in the morning they tend to use the backdoor and make a stroll through he garden in stead of using the front door. Make sure they leave in time!
C. Not all content is necessary. If you decide -at first glance- not to use a particular door or window or even none of the custom content, that’s fine. Just uncheck it in the S2CPI - list. The house will function without them, however I’ve noticed that if you don’t install “Pinegultcher Wood Rail In Whitewood by Nengi65”, the (front porch) railing will NOT be replaced by a Maxis one, (at least in my basegame environment) but will be invisible. So when you try to put another fence instead - you’ll notice the game won’t let you. To work around this: Just pretend you’re deleting a fence and you’ll see afterwards that now you ARE able to place the new fence.

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
