This needs the CEP in order to be fully functional (you'll only see the shades in your game otherwise, not the bases).
One thing that has always bugged me about these cheapo Maxis lamps: they don't look lit when they're lit. They're supposed to be made from fabric, surely? And wouldn't a near-white fabric let some light through when there's a lightbulb directly behind it?
This is a Maxian lamp that is lit (I swear):
This is my version, also lit:
I made this by fumbling with the stdMatDiffCoef and stdMatEmissiveCoef in my recolour until I got the effect I wanted. This thread helped me figure out how it does not work, and a Google search plus 24 versions of this thing did the rest.
The other thing that bugged me were the frilly bases in that unlikely colour -- I've included two recolours in brass, one with the deco and one without:
The base recolours are independent from the shade, so you can have either or both in your game (and you're not going to accidentially delete the shade when you want to delete a base and vice versa). There is only one recolour each, both of the lamps will pick them up.
I'm including a brass recolour for the "Wall Flowers" wall light as well because it kinda fits the other ones, style-wise (and I have no idea what that green substance was even supposed to be); the shade of that one is *not* included because I haven't yet tweaked it into submission.
You can do what you want with this. Please link back to this thread when redistributing. Please respect that I don't do requests.
Enjoy!

This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
This custom content if it is not clothing, may require a seperate download to work properly. This is available at Colour Enable Package (CEP) by Numenor.
