UPDATE Below is the updated version 1.1 (teen version only). If you already had version 1.0 installed, simply remove the teen version and replace with the one in the new archive below. If you didn't have version 1.0, you will still need to download that older version and grab the adult version in the archive. This is a temporary solution as the updated adult version will be available soon.
What has changed:
Upcoming
I'm done with half the chance cards for the adult version. As soon as I'm done I'll upload it, which I expect to be before the end of the year.
Now back to our regular program...
For the last two years, I have been working for a large Convenience Store chain, and decided to represent that career in our little sim world. It is my first upload.
Convenience Store Career for both Adult and Teen

This career is based on the Business Career, and in fact I see it as a specialized version of the Business Career, in that you don't climb the stairs of just any business but especially a Convenience Store chain. Salary and promotion requirements are similar (but different). Friends requirement is lowered.
The job positions are based on my internal knowledge of the working of such a business, generalized (I tried to make the structure applicable to any corporation, not especially the one I worked for). Although I tried to go the realistic way as much as possible, I preferred game play over realism in some aspects. For example, I didn't make the wage scale too much realistic or there would have been a really steep raise at level 6 and almost no change from level 3 to 5.
Teen schedules were made more realistic, and as such they work week-end (once they complete their training), not week-days. Well, that is for students anyway, as teens here are not actually allowed to work in places where products they are not allowed to buy are sold (alcohol and tobacco).
There is only one chance card (so far) for adults, and none for teens. I plan on writing all of the 13 chance cards at some time, but for now if I waited until I was done I might never have released this career. Since I'm a perfectionist, I will spend a lot of time and effort to create chance cards which are both realistic and fun. Once I'm done, there is a chance you will know why I don't work there anymore (:S).
Below is the entire job description for each of the positions, for both adult and teen. Just don't read if you prefer surprises.

Known Issues:
Many of my Sims have went through the career and I never received any negative feedback, so I'm confident that no other problems ever occurred using my files.

What has changed:
- The first level was changed so to be only three days (W Th F) instead of five. Most Maxis teen jobs are set to five days for the first level, but with time I realized it was far from realistic. Remember that at this level you are a trainee, which in real life usually is only a day or two (three if you are bad). The choice of days is realistic also, as managers don't like to pay an extra wage (for the trainee) on days where no customers come.
- Chance cards are now available for all three levels (previously there were none). Yes you could get fired. Contrary to popular belief, convenience store clerk is not an easy job (although it is not one extremely difficult either), it's not a job everyone could make.

Known Issues:
- There is a bug in the games which enables chance cards to show up even though their probability of showing up is set to 0%. Thus from time to time chance cards which I didn't write (those are the one from the Business career) will pop, in this case just use ignore (or make a choice and suffer the consequences). I have found a solution to this bug: First I am happy to realize it wasn't a problem with my coding. Not that I really thought it was my fault, since the problems occurs with other's careers too, but now that I found the solution, I am reassured. Someone at the Insimenator posted a patch that fixes an issue with all things related to randomness in the game, which is caused by a bug introduced with FreeTime. Click here to get that patch.
- Only American English is used. All other languages will show the original Business career text. Please contact me if you are willing to write a tranlation (now would be a good time as I'm in the process of updating with all of the chance cards).
Many of my Sims have went through the career and I never received any negative feedback, so I'm confident that no other problems ever occurred using my files.
