Woot! Builders, rejoice! I'm not even a builder, and I'm rejoicing. XD

* grabbity grab grab *

I have wanted those corner stone overlays for the longest time, back when I wanted to build my neighborhood. We have that stuff on nearly every building, and everything is a different color of plaster. Do NOT want eleventy colors of plaster+stone, just want a stone overlay!

edit: And hiders too? <3 wub <3

A brilliant idea and a wonder that the game didn't do this in the first place. As a builder, making wallpapers has always bothered me because of trying to think of every style of baseboard, etc. that would be needed. I have also hated how the ceiling in AL ruins the crown molding by cutting it off or making it disappear. Now this could be adjusted with overlays. Anyway, this is one of the most useful building tools I've seen. I've got ideas for recolors with shabby textures for historical/grunge buildings, so your work will definitely come in handy. Thanks!

:lovestruc YAY!!! I've got most of your stuff in my game already - I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

Adjusted crown molding for AL would be super-terrific! I thought about doing that, but then decided to just go with the straight EAxis textures/placement (though I did clean up a few of their obvious pixel mistakes )

This is one of the greatest ideas of all times! I've been needing this since... well... FOREVER! However, I'm curious...

'The BINs folder' ???? What ARE you talking about? I've seen CSBin and TSBin folders, but no BINs folders... Some clarification would be welcome.

Thank you everyone for the encouraging words!

BoilingOil: the 'bins' folder I'm talking about is here: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 (whatever your highest EP is)\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins.

Everything works just fine in your downloads folder, so I wasn't too specific - sorry.
I keep everything I can OUT of my downloads folder, so I have moar room for goodies! ...dunno if that really makes a difference or not - but I want as many goodies as I can get!
Nom, nom, nom... :D

Ah, that explains a lot, thank you!

I'd like to note that on outer edges, the trimmings often look odd, as in not lining up with the actual wall edge. But apparently one can use the 'snapobjectstogrid' cheat to correct that. (on a side note: I wonder if it would be possible to alter the overlay meshes to automatically adjust for this... ignore me, I'm just dreaming )

Yes, that is a problem. Especially when doing "outy" corners or around doorways in a corner... In the interest of slimming down the ol' DL folder, the best solution I can come up with is to use the aforementioned building cheats. (They're really more of a tool or an aid - don't you think?)

However - if someone could figure out a way to get the meshes to auto-adjust, that would be really sweet! I'd DL it in a heartbeat (or less!)

These look incredibly useful for customizing exteriors! How often have I wished to use a specific trim on a particular wall? Thanks!
