It's been a while since I've uploaded a mod, and I'm still unsure whether I'm making the right decision by uploading this mod.

This mod is in its late alpha/early beta stage. I want detailed feedback on any problems experienced with using this mod. I'm not even sure of the earliest patch level that will support this mod.

This mod requires at least patch level, the patch released on the same day that the World Adventures expansion pack was released.
If this object is unable to work with this level of patch or any after it, please let me know and I will look into either making it reverse compatible or updating the minimum patch requirements.

This mod is compatible with every patch level from (World Adventures) to (Town Life). If it is unable to work with any patch level in between those, please let me know and I will attempt to fix it to ensure reverse compatibility with your patch level.

This object is an extended version of the original Ambitions Fog Emitter object, as discussed here. It extends it by adding the capability to set various properties of the effect. I mainly created this object to aid highly skilled data miners in deciphering the meaning of the SWB resources, which are used to store the data effects. Those interested will find that this package actually contains its own custom SWB resource with a working copy of the candleburning effect named chaos_candleburning and a working copy of the zzz effect named chaos_zzz. Both of them can be altered and experimented with, and if you're skilled enough, you could even try adding copies of additional effects to the SWB resource.

This object is located in the Functional Buy Mode in Decorative...Miscellaneous for $0.

ALL of these interactions are accessed by holding down the CTRL and SHIFT keyboard buttons and left-clicking on the object in Build/Buy Mode, just like the Ambitions Fog Emitter.
This object will turn invisible in Live mode, just like the Ambitions Fog Emitter.

Set Visual Effect... Copied from the Ambitions Fog Emitter object. This opens a string input dialog to specify the name of the effect that the object will play. Please go the Ambitions Fog Emitter Discussion Thread to download a full list of all the effects in the game.

Reset Visual Effect Copied from the Ambitions Fog Emitter object. This resets the effect played by the object back to its default, chaos_zzz.

Enable/Disable Visual Effect Copied from the Ambitions Fog Emitter object. This enables or disables the visual effect that is played by the object.

Fire One Shot This runs the effect once rather than looping it, and then displays a styled notification of the total time the effect took to play.

Display Effect Properties This displays all the effect properties that you the user have set for the effect.

Set Effect Property This allows you to set the values of the custom properties for the effect, including things like headline text, texture overrides, float parameters, and int parameters.

Clear Effect Property This allows you clear the values of specific custom properties that you have set for the effect. Please note that you must restart the effect by using the Disable/Enable Visual Effect interaction to get the effect to revert back to its original properties after you have cleared the custom ones.

I chose bookexplodestanding for the effect and chose the interaction Set Effect Property-->Float Parameter-->kParamParticleLifeScale, and set the value to 100:

I chose candleburning for the effect and chose the interaction Set Effect Property-->Float Parameter-->kParamParticleLifeScale, and set the value to 1000. Right next to it you can see a candleburning effect being played without any custom properties set.

You must have the expansion, game version or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

So this will work without AMB AND give me the AMB effects too? If so, how amazing, I've been missing out since I don't have the EP, but this will be great!

This looks really cool! I'll check it out once I have time to actually play the game again. I just wanted to mention to get a complete and up to date list of effects codes, people can check out my No effects mod tool which includes the functionality to export the list to a text file. Or they can leave the tool open while the game runs, use the filter to find effects, and right click on an effect name to copy it to the clipboard and then paste it into input field for the effect in your tool. (That's what I did when trying tests in the Fog Emitter and it works quite well.)

Some of the effects are only for one shot. Can you also add a loop option? It would be good also.

AWMIGAWSH--a fog emitter for non-AMB users!? Be still my beating heart! Chaos, you had me at the ChaosMod (which I sorely miss, btw ), but this brings my adorement of you to totally new heights! I only have the Base Game, and was envy green hearing all the great things about Amb--if this works in my game, I think I'll pass out, so it may take me a while to get back to you with feedback.

I tried this and it wouldn't even let me play for five minutes in Live Mode before my game crashed, so I took it out, and now my game is running like new again. So it doesn't work for Base Game only, at least not in my game. Stil a great idea, though!

This is nice, but a loop option would make it 4x better. And shiftable.

Can't find stuff in build and buy mode?

I am a developer and I specialize in decoding stuff like this. GREAT TOOL!!! TO THE HEX EDITOR!!!

This would be great, only it can't parse hexidecimal group names (only instances can be in hex). Also, what kind of image resource do I specify for texture overrides? I tried an IMAG and TextureCompositor (in that order) and neither worked.
