Updated: 8th Jul 2011 at 7:02 PM - new lower polygon files
Updated 27th June 05:
Thanks to Jwoods who has reduced the polygon count for these blinds:
Old ploygon count: over 10,000 (sorry!!)
New Polygon count : 2919 (still quite high...but MUCH better than before - thanks JWoods!!)
My apolgies to the 7176  people who have downloaded the very high polygon ones...I made these back in the days before we knew about ploygon limits!
Filenames and GUID's have been kept the same so they will simply overwite your previous downloads and use and recolours you may already have. There is no need to reinstall the the recolours...only the 'master files'
If you have not downloaded these before, just place all the files in your downloads folder.
**March 2nd** ** colour problem fixed* - *now compatable with my Long Vertical Blinds*
Hi Guys,
Wondered if you would test these new vertical blinds for me. They used to be in Sims1, but they are not in Sims 2 (and now I know why!!)
They have unique GUIDs so wont conflict with anything else in your game, they are Expansion Pack Ready (built with SimPE v.019) and are colour enabled. Available in White (the default), pink, green, yellow and a flower pattern. (see pics).
The zip file contains ALL the files you need. [If you downloaded before, these have the same filenames so will overwrite your original downloads]
You MUST install the TWO default ones (with no colour in the package names) to allow any of the other colours to work. There are TWO: one for the 'straight walls and one for the diagonal walls.
It's probably easiest if you put ALL the files in your downloads folder, then delete the colours you don't want whilst buying them in the game)
****UPDATE 26th FEB****
These now work on diagonal walls as well. Please test them thoroughly, especially the recolours. No problems reported with the previous non-diagonal walls release.

Recolours:
Now, before anyone (else) asks... about posting recolours. I'm NOT being precious about my designs, but please, have the courtesy to ASK me before you POST any recolours, (either here or anywhere else).
Firstly, ALL my objects are BETA objects, and (once again) should NOT be posted to other websites without a disclaimer.
I think it is wrong and unfair to allow people to download files to their game which are NOT certified, and therefore *could* cause problems with their game without telling them so clearly BEFORE they download.
Many websites dont say this... and I think it's not only wrong, but down right irresponsible.
I will NOT give permission to any website that requires a subscription or payment of any kind to make a download of this or ANY of my objects.
Please, if you see one of my things out there, let me know. I make these objects for you guys, because you are kind enough to risk your game and test them for me. They are your reward for helping me to learn.
I make these objects for people to ENJOY, not for other people to profit from. I do not wish to make any cash from them, especially as many of them are not perfect packages!!
These things take a LOT of time (my brain hurts! ...often) ... so all I ask is a little courtesy.
If yours is a 'free' website I'm almost certain to say 'yes' ...unless all you did was a lousy 'colourise' the entire texture file. Please, when recolouring...I have clearly marked which areas are which...please dont spoil the design by having everything all the same colour....it's just boring!!. Make the stick, beads and rail different shades of your base colour/texture ... or choose a single colour from your pattern/texture or even use a different 'complimentary' colour...and please...leave the brackets silver or white...I've never seen them any other colour.... Anyway, have fun ... but remember to ASK before you POST recolours.
...phew! ...
thanks!!

Note: These vertical blinds (like in 'real life' ) are tailor-made to fit a particular window. Whilst you CAN hang them on ANY window or wall, the are made to fit the "Independant Expressions 'Showcase' Shop Window". However, they do fit some of the other windows in the game quite well. They are actually only HALF the (two tile) Shop Window (so you CAN use them on smaller windows if you want to-single tile), and you can fit 2 together to fill the Shop Window ...(see pictures..)
Finally....phew.... please report any problems, particularly if you have a 'low spec' processor or machine...
thanks
Bob
****UPDATE*** 2nd March
I created a Long set of these blinds which were conflicting on diagonal walls. This is now fixed thanks to Numenor. Also the 'appearence' of a strange dark red texture when placed on diagonal walls has also been fixed thanks to him.

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below for more information.
