Culver Street Rectory is a Georgian-influenced Mid-Victorian Styled home with a past...

Background:

The old rectory was once home to the local parish vicar, it stood highly in the local society, with the vicar regularly having locals over for tea and dinner parties. But the vicar wasn't entirely pure, he had a lust for gossip and "art" of types, and so when people came to visit he would pry the gossip he craved, no one seemed to notice. If there was someone in town who knew anything about anyone it was the vicar, he knew of all the affairs, lies and deceit that went on in town, but he too had secrets of his own. For a long time he too had been involved with various lovers, but one eventualy became a regular to the rectory, more than any other before them. But as with any lie, the truth will always come out, and this enraged the town, as a man they once trusted and went to in confidence had been gossiping just as much as the town around him, spreading the secrets he learned. The affairs on his behalf only added salt to the wounds, the town was up in arms with each other, neighbours became enemies. Soon they formed a mob complete with blazing torches and pitchforks, they had a taste for blood, the vicar's blood, that night was going to be his last. As they went to drag him and his lover from the rectory they were met with shock, there was no vicar or lover to be found. This only angered them more and so they took out their frustration on their once beloved rectory, soon flames had engulfed the house and the flames could be seen from all across the county. As the flames burned, it seemed that the house itself cried out in pain, lashing the ears of the angry mob. And the same night that the vicar and his lover left the town, so did trust, faith and religion, the town left the rectory and the church to decay as a reminder of what happens when a small town becomes engulfed by the lies and deceit that they weave.

After years of being empty, barely a shell, life began to return to the rectory, at first it was only small things such as birds returning to nest in the garden, but then the garden began to grow back and burst back into life. Soon bricks and mortar began to rebuild over night, returning to the form they once knew. But what nobody knew was who, or what was doing this. Soon the rectory had clawed it's way back into society as a subject of gossip and intrigue, when seemingly complete, questions began to arise as to what should become of the rectory. And so the town has decided to sell the rectory and use the funds to rebuild their once glorious church and a smaller rectory for a new vicar to live in, when appointed by the town. Faith and trust has begun to return to the town, but will anything, or anyone else follow...

But anyway, excuse my imperfect story telling skills, it may not be terribly imaginative, but I just wanted to portray the idea behind the house which is also partly inspired by a house I have recently become infatuated with. The Culver street Rectory has 5 Bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, spaced over the main two floors, with a basement and attic containing bonus rooms which you are reasonably free to do with as you may. The house is situated on a 30 by 40 lot costing 157,437 Simoleons furnished, and 106,579 Simoleons unfurnished. (I know it's pricey, sorry, but that's what motherlode and the free real estate cheats are for)

I hope you will all appreciate the house and have fun! But will your sims venture down into the cellar...
