Title: Seasons Wishing Well Fairness Patch

Introduction

Considering the difficulty of obtaining a Seasons Wishing Well through ordinary gameplay, I am disappointed at how ungenerous the well is with successful wishes, I am perplexed that wishing at one well prevents any other well on the lot from being wished at, and I also consider it quite unrealistic that a heavy stone well could either be stolen, repossessed, or go up in smoke.

Description

This patch alters the probability of successful wishes, makes each well on a lot operate completely independently of the others, prevents a well from being stolen, repossessed or burned, and allows for easier placement without the need for MoveObjects on.

Like the EA well's default operation, the chance of a successful first wish for this patch is 100%. But in the case of the EA default, the chance of a successful wish drops rapidly with each wish made, so that after five wishes all further wishes are sure to fail.

This behaviour seems paticularly strange, because it is obvious that EA designed the well to be wished at ten times. This Fairness Patch reconfigures the "Success Chance Per Use" BCON so that each wish drops the probability of success by 10%, so that not until the tenth wish does the probability drop to 0%.

Changes to the well's Init BHAV were made to protect the well from destruction, and allow for more flexible placement.

To ensure that wishing at one well does not lockout any others on the lot, I also made some minor changes to the WishingWellGlobals semi-global "Interaction - Make Wish" routine.

How to Obtain the Wishing Well

The Seasons Wishing Well may be earned as a reward from the Garden Club for maintaining a clean and attractive garden. The well is also available as a cheat or a buyable object (found in Decorative/Sculpture at a cost of §2500).

Terms of Use

Since this modification alters a semi-global routine, it should not be uploaded in lots. I believe that in general, shared lots should be clean of hacks and patches - the use of modifications should be completely up to the player. Please do not redistrubute this patch.
