What a lovely make over Cat. It's okay to move sims out to the sim bin at anytime, and move them to a new place, played or not. Just don't move them in the old apartment into the house bin.

OK Jo - thanks! I've heard both ways... better safe than sorry, so I'll leave the warning up. But, I'll try moving an established sim as soon as I have one

Lovely makeover! And it's safe to move played familys out/into the bin. Just don't move them while being on the lot.
