Elealon--modest/luxury home

Modest and luxury might not go hand in hand, but I put LUXURY because of the price (around 250k) and the design. MODEST because it's not a fancy castle or mansion. This might be the type of home that you would see in a neighborhood with lawyers and doctors.

Elealon boasts of two stories with a semi-attached garage and a breezeway that attaches the garage to the house. You will find an apartment over the garage for that tenant you might want to invite in. It has a master bedroom/bathroom on the ground floor along with a half bath near the entrance. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet with a full length mirror in case your Sim is shy about dressing in front of others. There is an area for the computer desk/chair that is hidden behind a wall so that the light from the computer will not wake the one who is trying to sleep. The bathroom is very spacious with a separate room for the toilet and the bath-tub. This bathroom has a couple of chaise lounge chairs if you want to sit and read a book.

A formal dining room is included with the two story gathering room nearby. A (non-functional) laundry room is near the breezeway entrance, along with the stairs leading up to the hall that overlooks the gathering room. There are three bedrooms (at least 2 with walk-in closets) and two baths upstairs plus a storage closet. The family room has an area for informal dining and between the family room and the master bedroom you will find a covered patio for your 'rainy day' barbeques.

Furnished throughout.

I had found a picture of this RL house and houseplans and decided to give it a try. I've tried to only use items/objects from the game and the only "extras" would be some wallpapers that I created. I couldn't get the roof to be like in the "RL" picture, and never figured out how to make a ground level garage with a house with a foundation. If any knows how to do that, feel free to do so and post it here again. Hope you like it.

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

I don't believe I used any wallpapers from the EP in it. I will check it though. I know that in one version of it, I had some exercise equipment from the EP. Will check and post back. Thanks for the kind comments, you made my day!

That's a very nice job. I'll probably install it in my neighborhood for decoration.

However, what I'm looking for are good Sims2 Houses. Not houses made like good real world houses (I've done several of those, and in the real world I'm not having to steer the occupants through three layers of rooms to go to the bathroom, lol) but houses designed to be efficient for Sims2 play. I've tried a few ideas of my own (1 layer deep houses, minimum length of house structure, etc) but was hoping to find someone who's already done some good solid work on this sort of project. I'm lazy, I admit it.

I was looking for an edit button to post some more pictures, but didn't see any... so I'll post them here.

Picture of the upper story. The apartment is in the front and the three bedrooms and 2 baths behind. You can either enter the apartment from the upper story, or the stairs that lead into the garage.

I am 99 and 3/4% sure that there are no wall papers or floors from the expansion. All the furniture and any decorations were from the game and at the time that I had finished this house, I didn't have the expansion yet. The only extra wall papers and floors are ones that I had made.

Hmmm... it's probably a wall paper. I will try to upload another version of this house with no wall papers and the wood floor that I know to be from the first game.

You have to download a special program for rar files. I remember seeing the download somwhere in Mod the SIMS2, possibly under game help...

Alrighty people, the "Can you please go to all the trouble to make this into a zip file since I don't have anything that will work on a .rar file and I really don't want to bother searching on the internet for something to do it with" comments seem to be everywhere. The artists that create this stuff spend countless hours making their creations.. so they've already done more than enough.

:howdy: Go here:
http://www.gold-software.com/UnzipT...review13185.htm

Download "unzip them all", (1.42 Mb) it's a fantastic free program that will mass extract .zip, .ace. AND .rar files. Yes, that's right, put all of your zips and rars and aces in one folder, point the "unzip them all" utility at the folder, and it unzips everything all at once. I've used it on thousands of compressed files and never had a problem. The creator simply asks for a donation, but he does not require one. I made one, a few other people have made a donation too, if you can't.. then don't worry about it. The program does not expire, does not suck spyware onto your harddrive, and will not otherwise ruin a perfectly good session at the computer with the Sims 2. Go get it, marvel at its simplicity, thank the people who create all the Sims 2 goodies, and be thankful that there are people out there who can make thingies like "unzip them all" (I'm certainly not one of them).

I'm not spamming, but will type unzip and unzipthemall rar utility right here in this little spot so that those who search the forums for such things can find this post and end up as happy as I am. :D
