This latest skyscraper, another addition to the list of uploads of mine that were inspired by the Facebook game CityVille, is in part a response to the comments that have appeared on several of my other skyscrapers, saying that a user loved the design, but feared that it would be too difficult for their computer to handle. Well, this is still a skyscraper, so it is still a large lot, but I've done my best to see that it is less of a headache for those of you with slower machines. For those of you who haven't had trouble with any of my other skyscrapers, this is just a less-thoroughly furnished skyscraper, so it should be easier for you to add some of your own touches to the building!

This building has an early-2000s-modern style, with lots of floor-to-ceiling windows on every floor, commanding sweeping views of the surrounding cityscape from each and every apartment. The lobby has an interesting take on the streetfront bar, with a two-story space open on all 4 sides, and a glass-and-steel octagon in the middle, with a wine and liquor cellar on the first floor, and a small bar space on the second level. The third floor is a small lounge area, provided for the benefit of the building's residents, decorated with huge prints of modern art, and two marble fountains making it a perfect space to get out of the confines of an apartment and spend a little time chatting with the neighbors.

While I renamed my lot "Glass Tower," (unimaginitive, I know, but I could not for the life of me come up with a more creative idea! The building has a lot of glass, I guess... Feel free to change the name!), this lot is based on the CityVille building Penthouse Tower. As with many of my other skyscrapers, it is designed to fit in with a denser downtown area, although the slim profile of this building means that it works surprisingly well even in a neighborhood without other skyscrapers punctuating the skyline.

The actual apartments of this building are all fairly small (there's not much space on the floors of a building this size!), so they won't really be big enough for households of more than 2 Sims. That being said, for a family without kids, or a single Sim who's moving up the career ladder, a standard apartment in this skyscraper should be more than enough to provide the urban lifestyle often prized by those types of individuals. Each level has one apartment, until you reach the highest level serviced by the elevator. This hallway has two apartment doors, simply because there was no logical place to put an elevator that would actually reach the penthouse! Most of that floor is still taken up by a slightly smaller studio apartment, with only a small entryway being part of the penthouse, really just providing enough space for a stairway up to the penthouse itself. The penthouse then extends up several more floors, providing an open living room/kitchen space on the main floor, a lounge, office, and bathroom on the next floor up, followed on the next floors by the master suite and a skyline lounge with access to a balcony complete with hot tub- perfect for a wealthy Sim to look out on the glittering lights of SimCity's downtown!

As I said, I've tried to make this lot less processor-intensive, so hopefully it won't be as prone to lagging as some of my larger skyscrapers are. That being said, it is still quite a bit more than you'd ordinarily find on a 2x2 lot, so I leave it to you to judge whether I've succeeded in this regard! (I really hope I have though... it makes me sad to see people unable to use a lot they like, just because of its size!)
The building has a total of 6 apartments, ranging in price from $1134 for the least expensive suite up to $6050 for the penthouse. As with any skyscraper, camera placement can be trickier than a lot with less lofty architecture- I suggest high zoom levels and low camera angles as a good way to keep your view where you want it. Finally, as with all my uploaded lots, this building is entirely CC-free, and the uploaded lot has never been occupied by a Sim, though I have playtested a clone of the lot and found no issues. If YOU come across any problems in playing this lot, as always, let me know, and I'll do my best to address them!

Enjoy!

Lot Size: 2x2

Another skyscraper drawing inspiration from the Facebook game CityVille, so once again, credit for the original inspiration for this building goes to Zynga's designers.
