If I understand correctly, provided I have the world/EP/SP installed, I can use a rabbithole from Hidden Springs in my Lucky Palms world? I would really like to make Lucky Palms as retro/mid century modern as possible, and that old castle of a City Hall just isn't cutting it. OR - can I only replace Lucky Palms rabbitholes with your Lucky Palms rabbitholes, and recolor them? TIA!

Hi,
As long as you have whichever world the RH is from installed, it should work in any other world provided it is also installed. Using your example, to use the Hidden Springs RH in Lucky Palms, you would need to have both worlds installed since the RH's need original resources from the worlds they originate from in order to function correctly. Otherwise, you could run into some unexpected weirdness which I'm sure wouldn't suit at all.

Thanks!

Thanks for the mod!

Do you know if all the packages can be merged for performance reasons?

Also, I have the Hide EA defaults package in the overrides folder, but the defaults are still there. I might have misunderstood how it works.

Hi,
Not sure if merging will help with performance issues. Game is truly stressed being 32-bit and all, and I don't fully understand alot of the technical details in this particular area of the game. I can say that we didn't really notice any difference in performance with or without this mod, at least on our pc (Win 7 64-bit about 6 years old). My husband stays on top of making sure our computer runs as smoothly as possible with weekly virus checking, registry cleaning, etc. etc.....all that yukky stuff!

As far as the other, after extracting the package from the .rar file, the PACKAGES or OVERRIDES folders is where it should be placed, depending on how you install store content. If the defaults are still showing up, they may still be getting picked up from the cache files, so deleting them might solve things. They will rebuild automatically.

So I went ahead and merged all packages into a single 1.2GB package. Didn't crash anything, though I think I could tell the first load of the world was maybe a bit longer than usual. So yeah, it works.

But I have an i7-6700K and a GTX 1070, an NVME m.2 SSD and 32GB of RAM, and I have gone through every performance tweak and mod there is, so it might not for everyone.

I did delete the 5 cache files, the defaults are still showing up. :/ If I work out why I'll let you know.

Glad to hear it didn't crash! I imagine the larger package would take a bit longer to load, though I guess one could theoretically argue that one larger package might should load faster then multiple smaller packages -- not sure how all that really works, .

We also have an i7-6700K and an older Radeon 390 Nitro (8gb) w/ 64gb RAM which I'm sure must have been an on-sale FUBAR, but $5 extra for double the RAM, I'm certainly not gonna pass that up! We now copy the entire game onto a RAM drive and haven't had any problems thus far.

Another thought, if you by chance decrap your store content, that will cause our override files to mismatch for store items and both will show up. If non-store icons are showing as well, then I am at a loss since the overrides should replace them. Please do let me know if you figure something out.

I'd have to check through what's affected. I have all the expansions on origin but I may have some decrapped store content which might explain it. It's not a problem at all, I'm sure something I've done conflicts. Thanks again.

I've read elsewhere larger single merged packs load faster.

Default I Love these!

It just adds new rabbithole objects to the game that you can use to replace existing ones. These new buildings can be recoloured in the same way as other objects by using the CaST (Create-a-Style) tool. The originals cannot.

I wish these existed as converted ts2 hood decors, especially all of the Lunar Lakes and Oasis Landing ones. WOW!

I would like to use the recolorable shells, but use them as something different than what they were intended for. Specifically, I want to use one of the University buildings as a city hall, the Island Paradise city hall as a day spa, and the little school from Supernatural as a bistro. I used the transmogrifier to change the scripts, but both names and map tags show up, along with both options for original use of shell and new use of shell, and when I click on any option, it queues for the Sim then disappears an instant later. Could I clone these for personal use, to change the script that way so I don't have to use the transmogrifier, and hopefully get rid of the double map tags and get them to work properly? If so, because there are the main script and all the different subcomponents, can they be cloned easily?

Hi, Amanda,

I was having the same issue of the rabbitholes still showing up, so I took a look at the package and realized that none of the catalog catagories had been changed. That is why they are still showing up. So I took the liberty of fixing the file myself. Its available here
