These are sim careers for sims that want more that to just go to work and bring home a check at the end of the day. Sims in these careers are dedicated to making the community around them and world a better place to live. Each of these careers comes in both Adult and Teen/Elderly versions. The Public Safety career path focuses on individual safety and progresses into security and prevention for a major corporation. The Healthy Living career focuses on healthy living, diet and exercise lifestyle and progresses into teaching such practices to others. Lastly the Environmental Protection Agency career starts the sim by having them work at a humble nursery to eventually working their way up to being the deputy director at a local EPA office.
There are three levels to each of the Teen/Elderly careers, ten levels to both the Adult Public Safety and EPA careers and eleven levels to the Adult Healthy Living career. All of these games are base-game compatible and do not require any expansions to use. Each of the Teen/Elderly careers have chance cards for each level. All of the Adult careers have chance cards for every level except the top/last levels. All of these careers are add-on and do not overwrite any of the base-game careers.

The following are the specifics for each career;

Public Safety (Teen/Elderly)
· Parking Enforcement (no requirements) (Wed-Sun 4pm-8pm Wages:64/day) You have taken a job as a parking assistant and enforcer for the local shopping mall. Your job is to make sure that the parking structure is secure and the customers can find the next available parking spot. You have a flashlight cone that helps you direct the traffic and brightly colored uniform that allows you to be easy to see. You have to work fairly late for this job but it does not require much skill.
You should work on your health to make sure you do not get sick, as the only real skill you are evaluated on by the mall is your attendance.
· Lifeguard (body 3, charisma 1)(Wed-Sun 4pm-8pm Wages:88/day) You now have managed to get a lifeguard position at a local public pool. The pay is not much better than the parking enforcement position but being allowed to lounge around by the pool with a lot of half-naked (men/ladies) has its perks.
The hours you work are not as long but now you have to work weekends. Eventually you may want to work on your logic to get your next promotion but you are not in any hurry as this job is its own reward.
· First-Aid Instructor (body 3, charisma 2, logic 2, friends 2)(Mon-Fri 4pm-8pm Wages: 165/day) You have finally managed to get your first indoor job. Through the lifeguard position you have manage to learn enough about public safety and first-aid that you are now being hired to teach small classes for various corporate groups. Your hours are steady and the increase in pay makes this a very nice gig. You never thought that you would have left your lifeguard job but the money and respect make it worth it.
This is a very nice position but it has its bad days from time to time. Work on your charisma so that you may keep yourself composed for those difficult days.

Public Safety (Adult)
· Grossing Guard (no requirements)(Mon-Fri 5am-1pm Wages:60/day) You have taken a job as a crossing guard for the local school district. Your job is to make sure that the local children cross the street to the school when it is safe to cross. You have a sign that helps you direct the traffic and brightly colored uniform that allows you to be easy to see. You do have to get up fairly early for this job but it does not require much skill.
You should work on your health to make sure you do not get sick, as the only real skill you are evaluated on by the school district is your attendance.
· Security Guard (body 2)(Mon-Fri 2pm-10pm Wages:120/day) You have managed to get a job working as a security guard as a local parking facility. Unlike your previous job you can sleep in a little longer but your shift goes into the hours long past when the sun goes down. This is a fairly easy task as you have little supervision but there is still a great deal of responsibility involved.
The majority of what you are evaluated on is based on perception. How well you present yourself and take pride in what you are doing goes a long way. You should work on your charisma if you want management to notice you when the next promotion comes around.
· Lifeguard (body 2, charisma 2, friends 2)(Wed-Sun Wages:140/day) You do not know if this is a promotion or just a better version of the last job but you have received a promotion to being a local lifeguard. The pay is not much better than the security guard position but being allowed to lounge around by the pool with a lot of half-naked (men/ladies) has its perks.
The hours you work are not as long but you now have to work weekends when you did not have to before. Eventually you may want to work on your logic to get your next promotion but you are not in any hurry as this job is its own reward.
· First-Aid Instructor (body 3, charisma 2, logic 2, friends 2)(Mon-Fri 8am-4pm Wages:280/day) You have finally managed to get your first indoor job.
· Neighborhood Watch Coordinator (body 4, charisma 4, logic 2, friends 4)(Mon-Fri 8am-6pm Wages:400/day) The crime has risen locally and after a personal experience, life has forced you to take a different direction in your career. You are now working with the local police force in order to coordinate a ten-block neighborhood watch program. You are working with neighbors and local businesses every day and you are attempting to reduce the local crime rate. You have high hopes but for the most part this is a thankless job. However reducing the local crime rate will eventually become a reward in itself.
You should work on your mechanical skill, as there is a lot of sophisticated security systems and equipment that you need to familiarize yourself with. You work with these items every day so knowing how they work will be a great asset.
· Public Safety Activist (body 4, charisma 4, logic 3, mechanical 3, friends 4)(Mon-Fri 8am-10pm Wages:450/day) Although your efforts to reduce the crime rate in your neighborhood have worked, crime has gotten out-of-control through the rest of the community. You have had to put some of your neighborhood watch duties to the side in order to address your concerns to the local government on behalf of local law enforcement. In addition to your normal neighborhood watch duties you are now petitioning the local jurisdictions to hire more officers. Your hours are long but at least you are starting to be more respected within your community.
This job requires you to mingle with the right people in order to get your message out. You will need to work on your charisma and contacts in order for your message to reach the right people.
· Safety Officer (body 4, charisma 6, logic 3, mechanical 3, friends 6)(Wed-Sun 7am-4pm Wages:700/day) Your life has taken a new direction but not without some sense of irony. You have been appointed to being one of the very safety officers whom you were lobbying the city to hire. Although this was not the outcome that you intended it has come to you as a result of your civil efforts. Thus you feel that you have earned this promotion but you also feel a little like a hypocrite for accepting it. You work a daily beat and try your hardest to uphold the public trust in your area. This is a very hard job but you think you are finally making a real difference.
This job is very physical and demanding; you should probably work on your body as well as learn more about the local law enforcement procedures. You can tell already that the more you know the easier this job will become and the better you will be at it.
· Safety Operations Advisor (body 6, charisma 6, logic 5, mechanical 3, friends 6)(Mon-Fri 8am-4pm Wages:900/day) You have managed to save the life of a very important local businessman and he remembered seeing your face on the news back when you were still just a public safety activist. He was so impressed he has asked you to come and work for his business as their corporate safety operations advisor. In this position you are in charge of safety procedures, security and training at all of their local offices that interact with the general public. When you were offered this job you were overwhelmed at first but with your training and experience this job comes very naturally to you.
This job requires a lot more forethought and planning than the safety officer position but if it were not for the later you never would have had the experience necessary for this job. This job is all about taking the right precautions ahead of time so things do not happen in the first place. Work on your logic and get more familiar with the latest in security technology in order to prepare yourself and your staff for whatever may happen while you are in this position.
· Corporate Safety Advisor (body 6, charisma 6, logic 6, mechanical 6, friends 8)(Mon-Fri 8am-4pm Wages:1300/day) You have done so well as the local safety operations advisor that you have been promoted to the corporate level. You are now in charge of safety procedures, security and training at all publicly accessible offices within the state. You have to do field inspections to every one of these offices at least twice per year as well as act as the official voice when their advisors call you about various situations. You never would have imagined yourself in this position back in your crossing guard days but here you are.
You need to work on your charisma, logic and contacts every day in order to even perform the duties that you have accepted. Your level of responsibility cannot even be imagined by anyone outside of the very advisors that come to you with their questions. Good luck!
· Public Safety Director (body 6, charisma 8, logic 8, mechanical 6, friends 8)(Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Wages:1600/day) You have done it! You have finally reached the top level attainable from someone in your career field. You are now looked upon as being the same level as one of the corporation’s vice presidents and all of the company’s safety operations advisors now look to you as their leader. Your level of responsibility is difficult for even you to fathom, as you are now the ultimate voice when it comes to security within the whole company.

Healthy Living (Teen/Elderly)
· Fruit Stand Employee (no requirements)(Wed-Sun 4pm-7pm Wages:50/day) You have managed to find a job working at a fruit stand. There are so many types of fruits and vegetables here you cannot even begin to try and name them all. The place smells nice, the atmosphere is very tranquil and your boss is even a nice guy.
You like this start and are even thinking that there has to be a way you can make a career out of this. Work on your cleaning skill and body to get your first promotion. Body so that you can carry those big boxes of produce and cleaning as to place the best of the crop on top of the display stands where they will attract customers.
· Delivery Person (body 2, cleaning 2)(Wed-Sun 3pm-7pm Wages:85/day) You are now a member of the delivery team. Before you get to work the sorters have already boxed up your deliveries to all of the local grocery stores and restaurants. You arrive just after they finish sorting to deliver the fruit stand’s produce to these local entities. This is the job that all of the new guys want because it looks like great pay for less physical work but it turns out this job is harder than it looks. You could still stand to learn more about the items you are delivering but nonetheless you like what you do.
The next step up from your current position is to work for a local gym. As they say in this business, “work on your three C’s”: cooking, contacts and charisma. You are going to have to find ways to make your fruits and vegetables look better than the competitions to make it to the next level.
· Gym Training Instructor (body 2, cleaning 2, cooking 2, charisma 2, friends 2)(Sat-Wed 3pm-7pm Wages:160/day) You were working on looking good to the main supervisor when some of your fellow delivery people stated spreading rumors about a gym hiring downtown. The gym recruits some of its new trainers from the local farms and high school athletic programs because the people there are usually in-shape. You were hired in a team of three so they could have several new late fitness classes. The three of you teach rotating classes every afternoon except for Thursdays and Fridays when the fewest number of people go to the gym.
Now that you are here there are so many directions that your career could turn. You will still have to continue to work on your three C’s but at least your foot is in the door as one of the gym’s authorities on healthy farming practices.

Healthy Living (Adult)
· Farmers’ Market Stocker (no requirements)(Wed-Sun 7am-4pm Wages:150/day) You have managed to find a job working in a farmers’ market.
· Market Sorter (cleaning 2, body 2)(Wed-Sun 6am-1pm Wages:200/day) You are having a great time working at this market and you seem to get along with everyone. Your job is to sort the fresh-picked fruits and vegetables and make sure the best in the crops are packaged and sent to the drivers for delivery. The local restaurants and grocers pay handsomely for the best of the crop and unfortunately the farm cannot compete without the extra revenue.
You are learning so much about various fruits and vegetables; which ones are your favorites, which ones are more abundant during which times of the year, etc. This job may not pay much more but all of your hard work is done at the beginning of your shift, leaving lighter work for the rest of the day.
You are off to a great start but if you are to someday make the delivery team you are going to have to work harder on your mechanical skill.
· Morning Delivery Person (cleaning 2, Body 2, Mechanical 3)(Wed-Sun 8am-4pm Wages:300/day) You are now a member of the delivery team. Before you get to work the sorters have already boxed up your deliveries to all of the local grocery stores and resturants. You arrive just after they finish sorting to deliver the farm’s produce to these local entities. This is the job that all of the new guys want because it looks like great pay for less physical work but it turns out this job is harder than it looks. Your hours are not as early but they can be long. You could still stand to learn more about the items you are delivering but nonetheless you like what you do.
The next step up from your current position is to work for the distributor. As they say in this business, “work on your three C’s”: cooking, contacts and charisma. You are going to have to find ways to make your fruits and vegetables look better than the competitions to make it to the next level.
· Farming Distributor (cleaning 3, body 3, mechanical 3, cooking 3, charisma 3, friends 2)(Wed-Sun 8am-4pm Wages:400/day) You have managed to find yourself working for the local farming distributor. Your experience with the local farmers and knowledge of the delivery routes were just enough to get you through the interview. Farmers deliver their crops to the distribution center where you and your team put their orders together and then have trucks deliver these bulk orders to local grocers all over the state. No longer are you delivering to restaurants, just massive bulk orders to grocers. The pay is great but you miss being able to interact with the public. Hanging around in this large warehouse with the same three other people all day gets boring fast.
The next levels up are to either work in the distribution head office or as a nutritionist. The head office looks like a nice, less-physical position than the warehouse but everyone who works there always seems to be stressed-out about one thing after another. The nutritionist position however requires quite a bit more educational background to properly test the various crops for nutritional content, pesticide concentration and other environmental concerns. This position looks very technical for the background where you started. Either way you will still have to continue to focus on your three C’s for whichever opportunity presents itself first.
· Nutritionist (cleaning 3, body 3, mechanical 3, cooking 5, charisma 5, friends 4)(Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Wages:500/day) You were working on looking good to the main supervisor hoping this would get you into the next available head office position when as fate would have it one of the local farmers was having some serious difficulties with their apple crops. The farmer was having too much of his apple crops whipped out by birds and pests before they could be brought to market. He asked you what could be done about it when he delivered his corps and you remembered some of your tactics from when you used to work as a sorter.
After he tried a pesticide you recommended to him his production went up by 12% within a month. For your sound advice the local farmers union offered you a position as one of their nutritionists and you could not pass on the opportunity. Now that you are here there are so many directions that your career could turn. You will still have to continue to work on your three C’s but at least your foot is in the door as one of the state’s authorities on healthy farming practices.
· Nutritional Consultant (cleaning 3, body 3, mechanical 3, cooking 7, charisma 7, friends 6)(Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Wages:600/day) After a while working as a local farmers’ union nutritionist you have earned the reputation as a nutritional consultant. While not actually an official promotion some entities now come to you for nutritional solutions to the problems with their products. You are an unofficial food scientist. For example when a cereal manufacturer wants to improve their product by adding more fiber, having less sugar, etc., they will consult you. You will break down what ingredients and processes that they are already employing and they pay you to find a way to add that extra fiber (or whatever) to their product while not sacrificing too much of the original recipe.
While this position is based upon reputation and not an actual official promotion, it is just as fragile as your reputation as well. Try to maintain a healthy lifestyle to match the one you are trying to promote. Practice will reward you and reflect both at work and in your personal life.
· Nutritional Therapist (cleaning 5, body 5, mechanical 3, cooking 7, charisma 7, friends 7)(Tue-Sat 7am-4pm Wages:750/day) You have managed to gain such a reputation that word has leaked out to the local medical community and you have earned an office position at a local HMO as a nutritional therapist. They now hire you to conduct classes with specific groups of people to find nutritional solutions to their medical conditions. You have on class for expecting parents, two classes for overweight people and one other class for diabetics.
While you are not conducting one of these classes you are also employed by the same medical community to monitor the diets of various patients who are suffering from specific nutritional needs. Say a doctor wants to start a patient on a new experimental drug but it is known to reactions to certain foods, they will consult you about that patient’s diet before prescribing the drug to the patient.
So far you have been able to progress with your knowledge of foods and the way you present yourself but now you actually have to logically pursue solutions to questions that have yet to be answered. You are going to start thinking more like a scientist and less like a farmer at this point in your career. All that can be said for you at this point is good luck.
· Physical Therapist (cleaning 5, body 6, mechanical 3, cooking 7, charisma 7, logic 4, friends 7)(Tue-Sat 7am-4pm Wages:850/day) You had to look for more-consistent work and schedule through the HMO and thus you took one of the offered openings for a physical therapist. You are surprised by how well the hospital was willing to pay for your services because of your nutritional background. You are now seeing several patients on a rotating shift every week while they try and gain the strength to perform various motor skills all over again. You have three patients that were in auto accidents and one who was a professional athlete that suffered a serious back injury. The rest of the people who receive your services are not suffering from any form of long-term treatment.
You are still maintaining some of the same classes that you were as a nutritional therapist but for right now you are more focused career-wise towards your patients. You should work on your body, logic and charisma to improve your ability at this job. Your advancement will be largely based upon your success in helping the long-term patients.
· Athletic Trainer (cleaning 5, body 7, mechanical 3, cooking 7, charisma 7, logic 6, friends 7)(Sat-Wed 8am-5pm Wages:1100/day) Your relationship with your professional athlete patient has evolved into a rather unexpected direction; you have been hired by a professional athletic organization as one of their professional trainers. They liked the job you did with their one athlete and offered you a full-time position within their organization. They pay you more than you had expected but this is mostly because of all of the responsibility that comes with this position. Around here you are not just an on-duty staff person; here you are a part of an organization that prides itself on being the best of the best.
This is a tremendous opportunity for you. Here you are no longer a nameless face; you are actually treated like a form of celebrity. Work on your body, cooking and charisma because you are going to have to live up to the image that others perceive in you. You are going to have to actually walk-the-walk compared to just talking-the-talk, like you have been up to now.
· Healthy Living Author (cleaning 5, body 8, mechanical 3, cooking 8, charisma 8, logic 6, friends 9)(Sat-Wed 8am-6pm Wages:1500/day) One of the parts of your contact as the athletic trainer was having to make a statement to the press about the status of an injured player. This has led to you actually becoming a recognized figure in the world of healthy living. Now you are being asked by exercise video companies and magazines to submit exercise videos and magazine articles to them for publishing. The more you do, the more your name gets out there and, the more demand there is from the public for you to do more. You are still doing the work of an athletic trainer for the team but now you are so much more.
You do not know what lies in your future so you might want to focus on the skills that got you here. Your name is now synonymous with people’s impression on how to live healthy. Proper diet and exercise is what got you here and is the key to whatever the future holds for you.
· Celebrity Health Guru (cleaning 5, body 9, mechanical 3, cooking 9, charisma 9, logic 6, friends 11)(Sat-Wed 8am-6pm Wages:2000/day) You have done it; you are now the top name and role model when it comes to personal health. Your “Healthy Living” recipe books and exercise videos practically sell themselves. Many young men want to be you and other celebrities just hope to be seen with you. There are entire lines of sports equipment that are willing to pay for your endorsement and there are even those that are willing to pay you just to wear their clothing lines. You have reached the top of the healthy living lifestyle and have proven that people can attain any goal if they are willing to work hard and believe in themselves.

Environmental Protection Agency (Teen/Elderly)
· Nursery Employee (no requirements)(Wed-Sun 4pm-7pm Wages:55/day) You have managed to find a job working in a plant nursery. There are so many types of plants there you cannot even begin to try and name them all. The place smells nice, the atmosphere is very tranquil and your boss is even a nice guy.
You like this start and are even thinking that there has to be a way you can make a career out of this. Work on your cleaning so that no plants die while they are under your care.
· Closing Head Cashier (cleaning 3 logic 1)(Wed-Sun 4pm-9pm Wages:90/day) You are now the nursery closing head cashier. You stay after everyone else and make sure that the whole business is properly closed each day. Your hours are late and long but the pride and respect you receive make you feel proud of whom you have become. You could still stand to learn more about the plants you sell but none the less you like your job and what you do.
You like this type of work so you should work on your logic and friends to see if there is some way to make this an actual career above the level of a retail nursery.
· EPA Student Assistant (cleaning 3 logic 3 friends 2)(Mon-Fri 3pm-8pm Wages:170/day) You have managed to find yourself an student-level office job with the Environmental Protection Agency through a friend you were working with at the nursery. Your experience with the plants and knowledge on the environment was just enough to get you through the testing interview. This is nothing like where you came from at this level. This is more of an office environment at this stage but you are learning a lot more about other aspects of the environment in this position than you ever would have continuing to work at the nursery.
It takes more than knowledge to make it at this level you have to maintain good attendance and learn more about what projects are the hot topics through your office. Work on your health so you do not get sick and make some more friends so you can keep up with the hot issues throughout the office.

Environmental Protection Agency (Adult)
· Nursery Employee (no requirements)(Tue-Sat 8am-2pm Wages:75/day) You have managed to find a job working in a plant nursery.
· Employee of the Month (cleaning 2)(Tue-Sat 8am-4pm Wages:150/day) You are having a great time working at this nursery and you seem to get along with everyone. You are learning so much about various plants and which ones are your favorites, when to your surprise your peers have nominated you “Employee of the Month”. This job may not pay much but it truly does not bother you as little surprises like this make you feel good about what you are doing.
You are off to a great start but if you are to someday make head cashier you are going to have to work harder on your cleaning and logic.
· Head Cashier (cleaning 3, logic 2, friends 1)(Tue-Sat 7am-4pm Wages:250/day) You are now the nursery head cashier. You arrive before everyone else and make sure that the whole business is ready to go each day. Your hours are early and long but the pride and respect you receive make you feel proud of whom you have become. You could still stand to learn more about the plants you sell but none the less you like your job and what you do.
You like this type of work so you should work on your logic and friends to see if there is some way to make this an actual career above the level of a retail nursery.
· EPA Office Assistant (cleaning 3, logic 3, friends 3)(Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Wages:450/day) You have managed to find yourself an entry-level office job with the Environmental Protection Agency through a friend you were working with at the nursery.
· EPA Office Technician (cleaning 3, logic 3, body 2, friends 5)(Mon-Fri 8am-4pm Wages:600/day) You have been promoted to being the assistant directly underneath one of the supervisors in the water unit. Rather than doing a lot of day-to-day activities to just keep the office running as a whole, you now are more engaged to him alone. You organize his calendar, you proofread his correspondence before it goes out to the public and you screen his calls. You get paid more and you are learning a lot about how water is protected and regulated but, you are so busy that you have very little time to enjoy what you are doing or take pride in the work you do.
Start working more on all aspects of what got you here in the first place. Maybe someday you may be promoted into doing some field inspections. You did not pursue this career to just be tied to a desk all day. This is not where your passions lie.
· Field Researcher (cleaning 4, logic 4, body 4, friends 5)(Mon-Fri 8am-6pm Wages:800/day) Great news you have been induced into a research team and now do field inspections. Sure you will have to work your way up, as you are now the “new guy.” However your experience with the nursery has left you with a feel for the outdoors and a love of nature that you can now truly appreciate with this new position. You love this work as you can now get your hands dirty and work directly with environmental projects.
You are the “new guy” and as such you have a lot to learn about what is expected of you as a member of this team. Brush up on your mechanical skill and logic so you can learn how to use the tools you need in the field and what you should be looking for when you are doing these inspections.
· Environmental Analyst (cleaning 4, logic 6, body 4, mechanical 4, friends 6)(Mon-Fri 8am-6pm Wages:1000/day) You are now a fully respected member of your inspections team. You have not been doing this the longest but your supervisor has enough confidence in you to sometime send you out to do inspections on your own. You prefer to work as a team because you can get more done working as two rather than just by yourself however, at this level that is not always the case. You know what you are looking for when you go out to do an inspection and what should immediately send up a red flag to you.
The next level up is that a Government Program Coordinator which is a very hard title to attain. You will need to both know and look the part in order to attain this level. You will need to work on your logic, cleaning, mechanical skill and charisma in order to even be considered for this level someday.
· Local Government Program Coordinator (cleaning 6, logic 7, body 4, mechanical 6, charisma 6, friends 6)(Mon-Fri 8am-6pm Wages:1400/day) You have been put in-charge of a government public-trust. This means you are not allowed to fail under any circumstances. The public-trust you are in charge of is the Clean Drinking Water Program (CDWP.) This means if the drinking water ever becomes contaminated anywhere in your area of jurisdiction, it is automatically your fault! You answer directly the Environmental Protection Agency’s Deputy Director and she has put her trust (and political future) in your hands.
Work on your cleaning skill and charisma as if your life depended on it. It does!
· Local EPA Committee Representative (cleaning 8, logic 7, body 4, mechanical 6, charisma 8, friends 8)(Mon-Fri 8am-7pm Wages: 1800/day) The Deputy Director of the Environmental Protection Agency has appointed you to a government oversight committee. While upon this committee you will no longer be just focused upon current or fiscal issues but you will also be expected to focus on the environmental future as a whole. Reporters and activists are constantly trying to corner you and miss-quote everything that you say to fit their own political agenda. As long as nothing you say makes your boss look bad, you have done your job.
You spend so many hours constantly working and analyzing various projects your hardly have any time for anything. However when you do get some time try to max-out your charisma as much as possible.
· Local Deputy Director (cleaning 8, logic 8, body 4, mechanical 6, charisma 10. friends 10)(Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Wages:2200/day) You have done it! You have finally reached the top level attainable from someone in your career field. You are now looked upon as being the same level as one of the governor’s advisors and all of the governor’s advisors now look to you as their environmental leader. Your level of responsibility is difficult for even you to fathom, as you are now the ultimate voice when it comes to the water code within the whole state.
