I have always disliked the default houses in The Sims 3 - they all have some weird quircks, pointless features or horrible roof lines. Most of the houses can be fixed with some simple retouches, and that's what I've done with this one.

I have tried to keep the general shape and design of the house since it is, after all, a remodel and not a tear-down. The very first thing I did was moving the ridiculous carport further back so that it is intergrated into the house body. I also removed the side exit that served no actual purpose. I added two bay-windows at the first floor and redesigned the upstairs fascade to a more logical gable-on-gable design. The double staircase was moved and made into a single staircase. The tacky interior colors have been toned down or changed.

The "Cozy Craftsman" has an open-plan living room, dining room and kitchen. Adjacent to the kitchen there is a bathroom. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a bathroom and a large landing (this can be used for office space etc).

The landscaping has not been touched, so that is all EA.

The house costs a bit more than the original, but not much. It's 25,684 unfurnished and 29,309 fully furnished.
