Re "fires are nearly impossible in the stock game": Are they?? They happen all the time in mine. Especially one family whose stove had to be replaced pretty much every time they cooked a meal because it always went up in flames (despite everyone having medium-to-high cooking skills and the stove being the most expensive one). I got fed up and took it away and replaced it with a microwave. Now they keep rolling a Want to buy a stove. Not gonna happen. I don't have any mods for more frequent fires, guess I'm just unlucky (or lucky, depending on how you see it.)

Thanks! I think I've had one fire the whole time I've played and it was in a house with a sprinkler so it was pretty much a non-event.

ETA - Yes, agreed with the above poster, great to see you back!

Statistically, there's only about a 2.5% chance of a fire in the stock game., and that goes down as your sim levels up. Not sure why you're seeing so many fires, other than random number generators can be a cruel mistress.

I tried using this mod, but after the first fire, the game was acting like the fire was still going, even though it was out. My Sims could move around, go to work/school, and pretty much do whatever they wanted, but I couldn't have them travel, and I couldn't save. Is this a problem with the mod itself, or are there any mods on here that are known to be incompatible? Because I really want this mod! Thanks.

I have the opposite problem: Every other time I use an incense, it catches fire. Also, had Sim in really good mood, medium cooking skill, fire extinguisher nearby and smoke alarm on the stove, but then it caught fire and he died. Was wondering if you could make a mod that reduces most fire chance, and eliminates those caused by incense?

As long as I played this version of sims I never saw any death interaction... I had to cause death through mods in order to finally see the Grim Reaper LOL, mods like this will make it more interesting, because now to send a sim to cook with 0 level on cooking will be quite an ordeal I hardly ever saw a fire, electrocution etc. Nothing... I guess Maxis set everything on really low chances... Exactly like the abductions nerve back then.

Aww man, did they change fire rates? I've had 4 child experiment fires (3 from my kids and one a friend) and my sims aren't allowed to have a stove in the house any more. xP literally everytime they cooked for the first time automously they burnt down the kitchen including my brand new stove/fridge upgrade. I know now not to place them together!

Intresting enough I think all fires involved first time uses. So maybe just first use had higher rate (we are talking 5 adults and 4 fires! And ice only raised 6 kids, 3 of which are still kids).

Anyway saving this for a different save lol.
