Gah, you're awesome! I can't wait to see my sims start magically taking care of themselves -- for once. :P >_>

This causes witches who cast even a single Charm to be affected by a hidden "max motives" effect, whether it be on themselves or others. At least on the energy/fun/social non-magic drop flavor.

@Jallun - you're absolutely right. Though, It's not so much a "max motives" as a result of adding the advertising for the spell to work autonomously ; I had to leave how much the charm fills each motives, otherwise, even when casted autonomously, they wouldn't get filled at all. Side effect is this maxing of all motives. I'm sorry, I understand how cheaty it could be for you or some others. I couldn't find a work around.

Thanks for idea!
I’ve just changed all but “SkillSpellcasting” “actual” parameters to 0, and it works fine.
Hope it’ll help.

@Ansuz - Really? This is great, when I did that, my witches would autonomously and continuously cast motive charms on themselves without any changes to their motives. Though, yes, it did stop the "max motives" effect when I directed my witches to cast the charms. But hey, if it does work for you, then all the better.

@Blyss - I’ve rechecked. And I'm sorry. I was so upset when saw “maxmotives “ effect even on nonautonomous casts and so happy, when it was gone… I guess I saw what I wanted and did not test it properly. I’m really sorry I’ve confused you.
Game just doesn’t readdress to the particular motive spell, where filling up parameters is, I think. It can’t choose second level branch of choice tree. I wish I know in which file this process is written. Or where to find exactly hygiene or bladder charms files. I’m pretty sure, autonomy should be added there.
Please excuse me my possible mistakes in English. It is not my native language, and I’m not very confident in my skill.

@Ansuz - You're good no worries! I'm not a native English speaker either. ;)
I was a bit excited when you said you got it to work, haha. I, at the very least, couldn't find separate files for each charms, and it looks like they're all dependent on this one tuning file, in terms of autonomy. Maybe it would require a more in depth mod to achieve autonomy, get the right motives filled and not have this unfortunate side effect when the casting is user-directed. Something like a script mod? I really have no idea and I feel like it's way over my level of expertise and I'm very sorry for that. In any case, thanks for the time you took looking into this!

@Blyss - I’m not so good at modding either but I’ve got an idea how to make autocast useful and not so cheaty. I’ve just set “actual” to 20 for all motives in the file so they all rise a bit, but not fulfill entirely, except for chosen one on player-directed casts. So for “maxmotives” effect it takes more “wand waving and silly incantations”. Hope my explanation is understandable. Sorry for my obsession. I’ve just being wanting for something like this mod for so long

I've been having an issue with the mod, it's been allowing my sim to cast motive charms even though their skill isn't high enough. I'm not sure what's causing this but it could be linked to what's above.

This is what the game should have done in the first place. Keep up the good work.

I need to report that this mod was interfering with my Motive Mobile being able to boost all motives. Hunger/Thirst was being left untouched by the car.

I am Ghost. My husband is sidneydoj. I post, he downloads, and I wanted to keep my post count.

@Ghost sdoj
Thanks for reporting a possible conflict.
I'm not sure how to help, as I just did a quick test in a mostly mod-less save, with a witch sim and my mod in, but I can't seem to replicate your issue (all my sim's motives got maxed out, as they should).
I also don't know what files could conflict with the Motive Mobile, as the ones I edited are really specific to spellcasting.

Edit: I re-read your post and thought a little harder on your use of "Thirst". And I think this might have to do with your sim being a Vampire and not my mod, as I can replicate the issue with a Vampire and without my mod in.
Looking at the file for the Motive Mobile, Thirst is not in the commodity kinds listed. When I add it, the motive gets replenished. It seems like it was an oversight of the developers. It makes me wonder if other such motives were forgotten...

In any case, I could share my edit with you, if you're interested?

Here you go!
I edited the CarMotiveMobile_0xae5cf55a2f3394e1 (XML) (0xAE5CF55A2F3394E1) under patch 1.67, just so you know and could look out for conflicts. :)

Hi, sorry to resurrect this discussion, but I am also playing with a Vampire/Witch sim. I've discovered that this mod has trouble with casting the Thirst charm autonomously. It doesn't even fill Thirst as a side-effect of filling other motives. (I've also noticed that it is sometimes targeted at other people but still fills my motives)

I have attempted to open the package in S3PE and copy/paste the Hunger line in below itself and change the string "Hunger" to "Thirst", but that did not help.
I have also tried replacing the "Hunger" line with "Thirst", but that did not help either.

I didn't change any of the other values because I don't really understand them.

I would greatly appreciate some assistance in getting the Thirst charm casting autonomously.

I am using the shimrod charms unlocked version if that is of any help, and yes I have tested it with only this mod and shimrod's installed (and the scriptCache.package wiped) to make sure none of the other mods I use are interfering.

@roberestarkk
Oh, the autonomous casting doesn't work, because I may have actually forgotten to add something for Thirst...My bad! Thanks for pointing that out!
When you add a line for vampire's Thirst, you have to type in "VampireThirst", not just "Thirst", maybe that's why it doesn't work for you when you try to add it?

I've attached an updated file with the thirst motive added. I don't have to time to test right now, but if you want, you can take a look?
