Has it ever bothered you that the teddy bear will look battered and completely worn out in no time at all? Does it seem unreasonable to you that the teddy you gifted to your newborn baby looks ancient before the baby is even a teen? Or if you, like me, play with extended age spans, before it's even become a child?
Sure bothers me! I'm glad Numenor fixed the aging, it's a nice touch, but he set it to become worn after 11 days. That seems much too fast to me. With Maxis aging, it takes 15 days for a baby to become a teen, which means it'd be worn half way through child stage if you buy it early. Not to mention those of us who play with an extended age span, it may look worn before the baby grows up to a toddler! So I set out to fix it, and it's time I share it with the rest of you.
What is this?
This is a global override that changes the number of days it takes for a teddy bear to look worn. Without this mod, it takes 11 days for a teddy bear to become worn.
I offer you four new durations. 20, 50, 100, and 1000 days. If you'd like a different duration, see instructions below for how to edit it. It's easy, I promise!
The mod will not restore worn teddy bears to new state, even if by the new code they would not be worn yet. Old worn ones will remain worn. It is possible that you have to re-buy teddy bears for the code to apply, but any teddy bear purchased after the mod was introduced will definitely listen to the new age duration
Compatibility
Requires CEP. The aging feature was introduced in the original code, but it was broken and did not work. It was fixed by Numenor in the CEP, so you need to have CEP or there is no purpose to this mod.
Install instructions
THIS DOES NOT GO IN DOWNLOADS FOLDER
This package requires CEP, and must be installed in the zCEP-EXTRA folder in your user files. Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/zCEP-EXTRA. If you do not have this folder, you either don't have CEP or it did not install correctly. Please consult Numenors Color Enable Package (CEP) for more information.
How do I edit this?
It is very easy to edit this if you want a different duration than what I offer, I encourage you to try it. You will need SimPE.
Instructions
1. Open the package in SimPE.
2. You will see there's only one thing in this package, a BCON called [CEPX8][StuffedAnimalGlobals] Tuning 2. Click it.
3. In the plugin view (lower half of the window, see picture below if you are confused), you'll see it contains one line called Days till worn. Click that
4. Edit the decimal value box to the number of days you want it to take for the teddy to get worn.
5. Commit file
6. Save your changes.
Picture only marks out decimal box, commit file and save buttons, because I thought that might be enough. If you need clearer instructions, let me know and I'll clarify.
As always you are welcome to ask me for help, if you can't or don't want to use SimPE. I will help you as soon as I have time to.
Conflicts
Conflicts with the CEP-package CEP-EXTRA_TeddyBears. This mod must load after the CEP-EXTRA package. If you want to rename it, make sure you keep the z in the beginning so the load order stays correct, or it won't work.
Policy
You are welcome to edit this for your own use, but don't share your modified version. This is such a simple edit, if people want a different duration they can edit it themselves.
Credits
simsample for reminding me that the teddy bear is part of CEP, which explained why I couldn't get it to work at first. Thank you!

About my creations
--- Currently retired from creating due to health reasons ----
--- No longer sharing content on MTS ---
I hope to return one day but for now consider me retired, and my uploads unsupported. I still share things sometimes on tumblr and I chat on discord servers, but I do not promise support for things I've shared as I don't know when or if I'm around and whether or not I'll have the ability and energy to do something if I am around.
If you ever downloaded something of mine, thank you! It's a great feeling seeing something you spent time on be useful to someone else in their game, and with all the great CC out there I'm very flattered you would choose to get something of mine.
I do not take requests. I do sometimes make things for people, but only when I see someone wishing for something on the forums and I feel like making it for them. So if you have a mod you wish would exist, make a post in Hacks and CC that you'd like to see!-thread. That's what it's there for after all! :)
A shoutout to VioletPadfoot for inspiring me to try creating, long ago. You gave me the nudge that got me started, and I'm very grateful. I'd also like to thank all of the wonderful experienced creators (gdayars, justJones, maybesomethingdunno, NixNivis, whoward69, HugeLunatic and many more) out there that wrote the tutorials I've used, or that has answered my questions when I've gotten stuck. You guys are what makes learning fun, and what inspires me to keep expanding my knowledge with new projects. Special thanks to Michelle who has helped me a lot when it comes to objects and recolors, and BoilingOil who taught me some modding basics that I needed when I started modding more seriously.
Policy
My policy is now open. I'd appreciate a message telling me about your work, because it's fun for me to see, and it means I know about it and can refer others to it if they reach out. As much as I would like to provide support for my own work, my health is too unstable and I have to prioritize. So if anyone else would like to fix problems or continue something and share it with others, that's great go forth :) If you can learn from my work or improve on it, wonderful. Welcome to ask questions on crafters, if I can I'll answer.
I'd appreciate if people do not share default replacements from my stuff as I do not like default replacements, but I can't stop you anyway so no point in acting like I could. If you want to respect my wishes, I appreciate it, if you don't care then well nothing I can do about it.
Other sites
Only share content on tumblr now. Still retired though so probably nothing, but if something new comes out, that's where it'll be. You can find it linked here on my profile.
