Thanks so much for this - I wish I'd had it for my RL kids!

Does this cover the children as well? I notice my toddlers don't wake up half as much as the older kids do.

No, because only toddlers have nightmares. Monsters under the bed are coded entirely differently.

I must have a glitch then...my sim kids wake up just about screaming from nightmares a lot (monsters under the bed sucks too)...I feel bad for them. I haven't had a toddler have a nightmare yet. I'll keep this mod on hand just in case they do!

Yeah same here.. In one household the kids and toddlers sleep in the same room, I have that monsters under the bed light on wall in the room and the toddlers sleep fine and the kids were still jumping up freaked out. I notice that doesn't seem to be happening now since adding this mod so maybe it is working on the kids.

Thanks for it regardless of who it's working on.....I don't have patience with EA's add-on antics.

I tried it, since you mentioned seeing it less, but it changes nothing in my game. Children still wake up screaming. It is really just for toddlers, this is what the edited XML seems to be pointing at, anyway.

Je mange des girafes et je parle aussi français !...surtout :0)

I can confirm that the XMLs I've modded haven't done any changes to the monster under the bed, because the files coding the monster and the files coding nightmares are totally separate, and the monster and nightmares are coded very differently. So my mod can't solve the issue, and I'm afraid that what happened to your game is just a coincidence.
After testing with other mods made by other people that affect the monster under the bed, children always wake up screaming. Hopefully the bug will be fixed by a patch ASAP.

I clicked the thanks button when I downloaded this mod. After creating Toddlers that have many sleepless nights I wanted to tell you that I am so happy this mod is available. I love this mod and thank you for creating it. Works great for me by the way.

I've been working on a no monster mod, and it works fine but I also want to include a bug fix against children being scared when they wake up (which is a known bug that happens with or without mods). I've tried very hard, but it's been unsuccessful until now and I won't release the mod until I've made a fix that works. But I'm working on it.
