Inspired by Philippine Colonial Architecture, Casa Simeon combines many tropical Eastern sensibilities with Western European aesthetics, creating a style unique to the country. Take your sims back to the opulence of the 19th Century with all the mods and cons available to the landed gentry and relive pivotal moments in the history of a unique Southeast Asian nation. Build wealth as a trader, command the province as an aristocrat, or fan the flames of freedom as a sponsor of the revolution.

No custom content or store content was used in its construction.



The lot is a 30 x 30 version of a house I built for my world-building project San Simeon and is noteworthy for being the first in the build to be completely CC and store content-free. As with most of my builds in the project, I based it on a real house in the older districts of Manila (specifically, on a photograph taken by my old professor on one of his trips, included in the gallery). Although I admit that the houses in my builds tend to look more authentic with CC or store content (seeing as the ones available in-game weren't always a good match), I think I managed to get as close as I can without using any custom or store content at all. Although the build this came from was set in the early 1800s, the house as available is set some time in 1890, right around the advent of the Philippine Revolutionary War. All in all, I enjoyed the challenge of building it and was confident enough in its quality to share it with others.

Notes

Because it doesn't have any CC, it also means that it lacks an oratorio or family altar. The front and back garden itself is comparatively modest; the front garden comprises just a few hedges and plants as that part of the house is usually reserved for sidewalks and carriageways. There are plenty of spaces left, however, that's available for the intrepid urban farmer to populate with plant pots. .



Save for the kitchen and the servant's quarters, there's hardly anything to do in the bottom floor of the house. In real life, people lived in the breezy second floor of the house. The stone bottom floor was warmer and thus usually only housed storage spaces. Here, I used it for horses. Should you choose to produce nectar or engage in any crafting activities, its storage room can be cleared out for this purpose. Finally, the stable can double as a garage if you want to set it in the early years of the 20th Century.

This is essentially a mansion for aristocrats and wealthy businessmen, so it is on the pricey side.
