Fingerprint Scanner Mod (Law Enforcement Career Reward)

UPDATE 1: I found out that if a sim scans an object that is normally usable by another sim, then the game properly will show the fingerprint of the sim who truly last used that object. However, if a sim scans an object that is not really usable by another sim, then the game randomly chooses a sim in your game and assigns them as the last user of that object. The problem is that if the item is not usable, the sim that was randomly assigned as that object's last user will forever remain as the last user of the object, and your sim will always find the same fingerprint. This update fixes this problem, and makes it so that whenever a sim scans an object, there is a 90% chance that the sim will find the fingerprint of the last user, and 10% chance the game will randomize the fingerprint or remove the fingerprint. This is a perfect solution to this issue. In addition, this update heavily improves the way the game randomizes the fingerprint, so that the fingerprints sims find will be more believable.

ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION

This mod makes it so that sims now increase their Science enthusiasm while using the Law Enforcement career reward Fingerprint Scanner. In an unmodded game, sims always drop the scanner on the ground, and this mod makes it so that sims will now put the scanner down on a proper surface. Additionally, the way the game determines whose fingerprint the sim finds does not make much sense, and this mod adds more sense into how the game determines whose fingerprint the sim finds.

You need the latest version of 7zip or WinRAR to get this mod.

Oh, really, why do they always put this thing on the ground? I never find it anymore and it gets lost forever. (Well, not forever, but you get my point.)
That would be enough reason to get this new mod of yours imho.
Thank you very much for sharing so many wonderful content!

But how do they determine which fingerprint they find?

Will this replace the scannergunhack from MATY? It sounds like it does a similar thing, but in a different way. Is there any effect on the jump which causes the scanner to vanish?

From the MATY readme:
Sims will now put the scanner gun back where they found it rather than ditching
it godknowswhere. If it gets dropped, it will be automatically moved back to
its original resting place. Sims will refrain from scanning objects likely to
disappear on them, like things thare in use, and vehicles. If an object manages
to disappear anyway while being scanned, the sim will gracefully stop scanning
things rather than jump and lose the scanner, their hat, and their queue.

Hi Simler,
I'm really sorry that I'm writing this on this post... but I don't know why but I can't write a comment at your Lot Visit Mod comment page.. I'm just wondering if I can use that mod with MATW's local walkbys. Are they compatible??

I would also very much like to know the answer to this question. I've used scannergunhack for years and I've wanted Science enthusiasm from the scanner for almost as long! I can only assume the two mods conflict (it seems impossible that they would not) and I think we can all agree we need a fix for that vanishing scanner bug. Can we get a confirmation on if that fix is included in this mod as well?
