Well Sprinkler System

This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.

"gather water" option added from patch 03/06/2020 (please note the option will only appear when you have the off-the-grid lot trait active)

I love to build old style houses (medieval, victorian, etc), and with these houses I try to use no electrical objects as they spoil the idea.

For me the sprinkler system/fire alarm is a must in my houses, as there are no firemen in the game (they have been added in the 03.06.2020 patch! ) and it's risky to rely on your sims to put fires out. Having one of those panels on the wall outside my house is not only ugly, but it goes against my ideas for a truly old style house. So I wanted to fix that.

I've cloned the decorative well from Get Famous and added the sprinkler functionality to it. So it can be placed around your old style house and look normal.

This is not a replacer, it will add a new object

You must place it outside if you want it to cover your entire house (if it is placed in 1 particular room, it will only work in that 1 room)

This can be used off-the-grid and does not require smoke detectors to work

Catalogue Details:
Electronics > Alarms
§350 (the same as the original well object)

Is it safe to put all 3 types in our game? Or do we need to only use one?

You can use all 3.
The files don't overwrite each other so you still have choice. And if you put all 3 on one lot it would still activate the sprinklers

I've updated the description on all versions

I have downloaded all three mods. I love this. I always remove the sprinkler from existing homes because they are so ugly. Thank you for sharing.

I loooooove it!!!! Thank you soooo much!!!!
The in-game sprinkler is butt ugly, but I hate when fires ruin my houses, so I use it. I always try to hide it from view in my old/antique houses, but this creation and your other versions (which I am soo downloading) won't be hidden for sure!!
Thank you!!!

Supercool! Maybe you could also make the garden hose a sprinkler system, I would love that one too!

Sure, I can do that. I got pretty speedy at putting these together after doing a few. Might be able to do all 3 so you can pick a favourite
Will try and start tomorrow for you

Default Functional Off Grid?
I placed this in a fenced yard on my lot in Eco Lifestyle world, I wanted to use it for a sprinkler system and to be able to gather water from. My lot was off the grid and the well was not selectable. I could not click on it at all. I tried it on a lot that was NOT off the grid and was also unable to select it? I also tried moving it outside my fenced yard thinking maybe the game thought it was in a "room". It made no difference. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You!

Do you mean "not selectable" as in you can't pick it up in build mode? Or you can't click it to gather water?
If it's the latter, perhaps you need to click the mailbox and make sure the new way of managing bills is enabled?

I have one of my other things active on my current family lot and it works fine, they are basically identical apart from the physical object, all the code is the same

I cannot click on it in live mode, I can place and remove it with no problem in build mode. If i place the in game wishing well, I can gather water from that. When I click on my mailbox, I can see that I am gathering surplus water if I use the in game well so I assume my billing is updated. And yes, I do have script mods enabled in case you were wondering.

Very odd.. As shown in the screenshot example, I have that feature working, so I have no idea why it won't work :/

Maybe I uploaded the wrong file by accident?
*** Checked, nope, I uploaded the right file: here's the included code, at the bottom is the gather water - I took it from the wishing well object tuning so I had the correct code.
Code:
  <L n="_super_affordances">
    <T>75207<!--fire_sprinkler_Deactivate--></T>
    <T>13328<!--debug_Reset--></T>
    <T>13326<!--debug_ObjectDestroy--></T>
    <T>103888<!--cheat_set_as_head--></T>
    <T>196759<!--famePerks_GoodReputation_GivingBack_DonateObject--></T>
    <T>116720<!--simRay_Transform_Object_WallObject--></T>
    <T>74457<!--fire_ReplaceBurntObject--></T>
    <T>102258<!--Ghost_Possess--></T>
    <T>168502<!--Ghost_Pet_Possess--></T>
    <T>235798<!--gatherWater_FishingSpot--></T>
  </L>

Only other thing I can think is - make sure you are placing the object I added, not the original well from GF, I didn't replace it - I added a seperate item
