This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
This is a featured upload! It showcases the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Hi!
It took me a while to prepare, but here it is. Four sets, 48 lights, split into two packs.
All base game compatible, and with reasonable poly-count.
Each pack contains a collection file - to be placed in Collections folder,
or directly in Downloads folder.
Mac users:
It's most likely that some of these lamps will not work for you.
You need to download new meshes and replace the problem lamps.
Replacement meshes had to be simplified and don't look exactly like the originals,
but hopefully won't cause any issues
More info:
Modernist Lamps:
Cool Lights Set: CoolDeskLamp,
Retro Lights Set: Retro Floor Lamp.
These two are not master meshes, so you can either replace or remove both
from original collection and the rest should work just fine.
Vintage Lamps:
Gameroom Set:
Gameroom 3-shade lamp - this one is a master and needs to be replaced!
Replace or remove the following:
Gameroom - GameTable Hanging Lamp
Gameroom - Desk Lamp
G&B Set:
Antique Billiard Lamp - master mesh, needs to be replaced.
Replace or remove the following:
Bell Pendant Light
Berry Pendant Light
BlownGlass Pendant Light
Hanging Lantern
Pyramid Floor Lamp
Why did these lamps crash the game on Mac? It seems that macs have trouble handling lamps
that contain many additional subsets, and simply can't stand extra subsets that use material definitions with blend mode on,
(transparency).
Thanks go to Muridae, who identified the problem meshes and did the testing.

I use these to transform base game wall lights into bedside lamps.

Notice:
I've generated random GUIDs for these items.
There's a very slight chance somebody generated the same GUID (mesh object's unique ID) for The Sims 2 creation at some point.
If you put two custom objects with the same GUID in the game files, only one of them works.

I recommend you get collection files, note how many lamps you've downloaded
and make sure it all shows up in each collection folder.
I've made all the 3D meshes aside from round Wall Lamp, that borrows parts and shape from Tiffany Lamp by Maxis.
Most of these were inspired by lamps I've seen on internet etc. Fantastical mini-set is my own design.
I still have a few lamps in my WIP folder.. But for now, I've switched to plumbing

I think this upload may be the solution to all my simming woes (okay, that may be an overstatement)! The one thing I have lamented for years and never found a solution to is a desperate need for more! lighting! options! so i generally use the same, generic, inoffensive lamps constantly. No more! For now there is variety aplenty! And for that, I thank you!
Man, these are great! This is the kind of stuff I want to see more. Large, contextual collections that just give me a lot of one thing. I love it! Your lamps look fantastic!
Love your lights! ...but...they just are not bright enough for me. Like some "candle" lights, you can see the light, but they don't light up a room. But I use them just for the pretty factor.
