Judging from your description and not having it tested as yet, I really must say you did a great job. Ants are useful little creatures and it's nice to have the option to interact with them and with their mounds. As I hate to poison animals (even in game), it would be fine if there were a possibility to limit the number of prospective mounds. I don't like to get my lots covered with uncountable holes and ants lagging down the game, so it will be great if we can limit them. Then I'll definitely install your mod. I like your ideas of later updates concerning interactions (except burning ants; that's simply cruel). Summarizing I think it's the most interesting mod I've seen for a long time!

A really neat concept that really adds some fun flavor to the game. Realism with a bit of silliness is what I love in sims and this is a perfect example of that.

One possible way of limiting mounds is for me to have them die out on their own after some amount of time. It's in the works. Trouble is they'd still spread pretty quickly before that, or might not spread enough. It's some fine tuning and testing of balancing two exponential rates lol. There may be another way using a statistic tied to the lot itself (i think that's a thing) to limit it to say... 20 mounds or whatever, but I'm not quite sure how to get it to work. But the whole point of this mod was for me to learn how to do things.

Right now there's not a lot of positive interactions other than making friends. My dream is to make a kind of pet ant companion for kids, like a dog kind of lol, or if not that like something you feed and tend to like fish. But I wanted to get V1 out to everyone as is since it's in a completed state for almost a month now.

I wish this mod could be used indoors. I have a room designed like a prison and these ants would make a welcome addition to it.

OMG!!! "Sim Ant" was one of my all-time favorite games back in the day. This is adorable and I can't wait to unleash this chaos on my Sims.

I just installed the mod and haven't played it yet (and due to my play style it often takes a LONG time for me to get around to using new mods), but it seems cool already, and I will be watching it with great interest! Maybe, for a suggestion, have it interact somehow with the Squeamish trait?

Is it possible to do a version that only spawns in neighborhoods where the climate is relevant? I like the idea of ants in the desert but not so much in more temperate regions. Either way this is a very cool idea and you obviously put so much thought into it!

probably. I think there's a region test, like how sims can "joke about sunset valley" there must be a way to check the world they're in. I plan on having weather affecting the ants soon so I'll probably work this idea in then too, thanks for the idea!

LOL that's the in game VFX of Fire ants shrug. (there's a tool to shrink them but it would override every other modder's VFX at the same time)

Lol what on earth. This seems like such an odd, random and unimportant thing, yet it brings so much to the game?
It's just that little bit of everyday difficulity the game seems to lack badly. Like the roaches in TS2. And the fact the different sims react to it differently is just amazing.

Do you have any plans to make similar things in the future? I feel like mods like these really bring the lacking personality and difficulity to the game...
Anyways thanks for making this!

Thanks lol. I have just finished up version 10 of automatic sunburns and will be posting it this weekend. It's already a HUGE project and it was a big thing to overhaul. This ant mod was literally a side-project for me to learn about object states. So Who knows what I'll make next.

I would love to see this get updated so that way sims who are mean to ants can be killed by them, and sims who are nice to them, can either get bonus treasures from them, or like bees, command them.

this is absolutely on the to do list whenever i get to the list. Another modder talked about having figured out how to make new causes of death.

My sim's entire backyard is covered in ant beds! They try to spray them, but it doesn't help! I love the mod, but is it possible to roll for a chance every 24 hours instead of 4? Also, could you implement an exterminator too?

An exterminator was on the drawing table but I didn't know where to begin. Another idea was to buy a kind of bug-bomb that would kill them all but then stink for a day or something.

Yeah the ants can get WAYYY out of hand if they are allowed to exponentially spread
