Welcome to this majestic storybook esstae known as ShadeLand Castle ???? built by Captain Nathaniel Perry for him and his family in the early 1900s. Captain Perry, as he was known as, made his fortune in the railroads and mining coal. He married prominent heiress Ms Michelle le Rogue, daughter of colonel le Rogue who made thier fortune in farming. They had four children, 2 boys and 2 girls. Captain Perry wanted to flaunt their wealth so he found a premium tract of land overlooking the river. He and the Mrs would vacation in Europe and fell in love with the English Tudor Castles so they hired world renowned architect Douglas le Fluer to design and build a castle in an English Tudor manor style using brick, stone, stucco and half-timbering. Built of the finest materials from all over the world



Towers and turrets galore, accented by brick, stone and Half-timbering. several chimneys with brick and metal cresting. Beautiful from the inside out! majestic and Luxurious and yet so comfortable and homey.
