Originally built as a simple farmhouse in the Tudor era. The estate would soon prosper through the wool trade leading to the dramatic expansion of the house in the late Elizabethan era, turning it into a H-plan house with the Tudor range forming the South Wing. The decline in the wool trade would see the house become neglected in the 18th century and receive very few alterations in Georgian styles. Towards the end of the century the family managed to improve their financial situation and social standing through marriage and decide to build a fashionable new home nearby. Seeing as their old home had begun to fall down around them they decided to demolish the North Wing and part of the South Wing to reuse the rubble for the construction of their new Loscombe Grange. Old Loscombe Grange returned to use as a humble farmhouse once more.

Then in the late 19th century, with the deaths of both father and son in short succession the family and estate found themselves crippled by death duties and were forced to sell off the contents of New Loscombe and strip it for salvage with much of its fine Georgian interiors being sold and shipped over to America. The demise of New Loscombe would be the revival of Old Loscombe as the family chose to spend what they had left on renovating the old house to live in and bringing it into the 20th century with indoor plumbing and electric lighting, both luxuries they never attained at New Loscombe. The house saw its finest Elizabethan interiors restored to their former glory with an Arts and Crafts style.

Creator Notes:
This is a creation which has been on the back burner since December 2017, so it's been a long time coming.
It's been heavily inspired by Mapperton, as seen in the 2015 adaption of 'Far From The Madding Crowd'. But since then I have drawn further inspiration from Trerice.
