Hi! I hope you don't get depressed and give up, mod. I think a little tweaking would go a long way to making those eyes stand out.
No matter what your graphics capabilities, if you'll look at most "real" eyes, they have a darker ring around the outside edge which provides a border of sorts between the color of the eye and the white of the eye (which keeps the eye from looking like it has cateracts or is too milky or something). Putting a darker color around the outside edge makes the color inside the eye--stand out more.
Also--making the black pupil in the middle a little larger makes an eye look more friendly, for some reason, and provides more contrast against the color part.
Then if I were you, I'd play around, just for fun, and mix in different shades of blue or black or bright white--then the eye would look great because of all the subtle color changes--instead of just a different color of blue.
I know how hard it is to get game graphics to stand out and look good in a sim's head. I think this was a great try at a real blue eye--with a little tweaking, it could be really great! The color of blue you originally picked is actually very pretty. Good luck, mod-bv! Hang in there and keep trying. Eyes are great to experiment with--you can get some really cool and freaky eye colors going on with a little experimenting. Please PM me if you have ANY questions at all about any of the suggestions I had. I hope this helps.
