 It's Already July...

Date Posted: 28th Jul 2013 at 10:14 AM

It's been a bit over 8 months now since my best friend passed away, and I'm just starting to feel like creating for The Sims again. I've picked up a few houses, patterns, and terrain paints that I just dropped when things got bad, and once I've finished and submitted those, I hope to get started on some new meshes....

On November 7, 2012, my best friend died in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and I was there. I will miss him forever and ever.

I am home and monitoring feedback on my creations, so if there are any problems, I will respond as I am able.

AFK...

Date Posted: 2nd Nov 2012 at 4:20 AM

I will be away from my desktop keyboard and my creating tools for an unknown period after I fly across the country to be with the sick friend mentioned in my previous post. My laptop isn't up for the task of 3D creation, nor for really running the Sims 3. It barely runs the base game for testing purposes, and I think if I load all the expansion packs, it will permafry its video card.

So, I will return to Sims 3 creation when I return, sometime in the next few months. I'm not quite sure that I will have internet access where I am going, but if I do, I will be around on the boards.

...intrudes. My dearest friend has been very ill and has been hospitalized these last two weeks, and thus I have not had time for creating. All of you who pray, say a prayer for the healing of my friend, please. Thank you!

Night Stalker Career and More to Come, Including New Meshes

Date Posted: 19th Sep 2012 at 8:03 PM

With the approval and posting of my first custom career, Night Stalker, I will be able to refocus my attention on a new, upcoming career. Unlike the Night Stalker, the new career will use a different framework that will hopefully allow me to add a proper retirement, events, and some opportunities. We shall see.

At the same time, I am returning to my first love, which is meshing. I'm hard at work on my first lamp. What's different about this piece is that I am making the multiplier, mask, and specular by hand instead of baking them in Blender. All of the Sims 2 to Sims 3 conversions I've done of late have taught me much about hand-painting, and I must admit that I as creator have much more control of the outcome than I do when clicking the EZ-Bake button in Blender. I'm really enjoying the process!

Back to creating!

A New Career is Near...

Date Posted: 8th Sep 2012 at 7:17 AM

I've stepped out into new creative territory and have been involved for the past month or so in making custom careers for Sims 3, to be used with Twallan's wonderful Careers mod. I had just about finished my first career, when I discovered the latest new profession set for release in the Sims 3 Supernatural was, you guessed it, the same as the career I had been so hard at work on: a Fortuneteller career!

Once I stopped sobbing, I decided that all was not lost. I had learned new skills, I had discovered the thrill of seeing the game DO WHAT I TOLD IT TO! WOO! So I set to work on my second career, a career also based on the new Supernatural expansion, but most definitely not something EA would ever implement...

And with that cliff hanger, I will leave you, dear reader. Until next time.
