My first submission attempt on MTS was a
Maxis missing dog breed for TS3. The whole thing was a disaster. I had a glich that made pets had pointy ears, the mod that reviewed it said it didn't resemble the actual breed enough (getting to the point of telling me to remove the belly markings 'cause the breed didn't have them despite the fact that I had a side-by-side comparison of a real dog that had the exact same markings) and I also had a graphic card issue. It seems neither my laptop not our other computer has a graphic card good enough to display pets' fur properly, which meant I also failed to meet the screenshot requirements. After several failed improving attempts, always followed by multiple rejections of my submission, I eventually gave up. I didn't think there was a way I could fix my breed with the tools I had a my disposal and a derpy gliched game.
Much, much later (3 years later to be exact), after coming across meetkitty's
School Bus, I was having some
fun stressful moments trying to figure out how to use advanced CFE to do something similar and ended up making my
Caravan with RV come true. I had been building lots for years, but it was the first time I actually felt proud of one of my creations, so I thought it was good enough to be considered MTS material.
After being thought the basics of the art of landscaping, the caravan was finally accepted. I could not bring myself to believe it. MTS has so many simmers I consider to be my idols and for some dumb reason I always saw it as some sort of VIP site (lol), so I couldn't believe I had actually made it. After that, I didn't really feel the need to build anything for a while (my lack of CFE skills make building the caravan last weeks since I kept screwing up and had to start all over several times, so I was pretty mad at CFE and exhausted from building), and I became an achievement hunter by accident instead, after actively nurturing our wiki and getting an achievement for it.
Now, after reaching several achievements, getting some downloads/thanks and hitting my 7 uploaded lots milestone, I feel like I finally am one of MTS' builders.
There's still things I want to do. I'm scared of modding and meshing, but I'm still an achievement hunter, so I still want to give pets creation another try, maybe when I can finally get myself a decent computer. I'd also like to write a tutorial, but I have absolutely no idea what I could write a tutorial about. And I'd like to give contests a try eventually. At some point.
I should also update my tumblr account... maybe. The only things I have uploaded there were my first MTS houses, both for TS3. None of my TS2 submissions is there. But I feel too lazy to update tumblr.
