Default FPS - frames per second
Was wondering what everyone else's frames per second (FPS) were?

I'm running the PC version with a Nivada Geforce 7600GT and it seems to do ok.

Just curious as to see what others are running and then I might go and upgrade to a better graphics card. Anyideas?

60fps with vsynch ON <- ok

Edit to add : playing full screen 1920x1200

I have an Nvidia GeForce 9800GX2 (that's kind of two 9800 cards jammed together into one card) and 4GB RAM . I am getting around 60-70 fps when zoomed in on a house, between 20-30 on larger comm lots like the park, and the rate slows down to between 10-20 when zooming in/out of neighborhood view.

This is with Sims 3 running in windowed mode on Vista 64bit, 1440x900, with Firefox open in the background and without turning off all unnecessary background programs.

bring up the cheat window by pressing Ctrl + Shift + C
(windows version) (not sure about Mac version)

type

fps [on/off] (without brackets)

Displays framerate in upper right corner

I get about 130+ almost all the time. With max settings and full screen 1920x1200. And maxed out graphics card settings as well.

6GB DDR3 RAM
i7 920 CPU
1GB ATI Radeon HD 4870 Video Card
Vista 64 bit

Dude you don't have to list vsynch fps. As long as you can play the game with more then 62 fps with out vsynch then it will play the game with 60-62 fps with it. It forces the game to put a cap on your fps so your monitors refresh rate isn't surpassed resulting in unneeded strain on your video card and sometimes image tearing. Most monitors only have a refresh rate of 60. So you don't have to mention your vsynch fps unless your monitor allows for a higher refresh rate.

At 125fps my graphic card is overheating 98°C
At 60 fps my graphic card is fine 57°C, no tearing or anything bad. The game runs very smooth.

My GPU idle temp is 42°C

I have the same exact card, ram, and OS; even screen size

I play full screen but easily flip from one thing to another without lag. Started fraps'ing videos of sims 3 tonight and encoding them and uploading to youtube all while playing. I love this machine so much.
