Those pictures look so pretty. unfortunately, those pyramids look like more rabbit holes in the game so meh. I don't care much for sand dunes either.

That was fast. Thanks for the info though! .

Well the second picture appears to be, if not the entrance and interior to a pyramid then a tomb of treasures or temple perhaps for Sims to explore. It also looks like there's some new clothes and definitely new items, from the pictures some that are clearly actually Egyptian as opposed to "Ethnic" as in TS2. I think the sand dunes, and the sand look awesome too! Realistic, hilly, different!

And these are only pictures of one destination - more are mentioned, which means more content and fun things! There's certainly a possibility of rabbit holes, but let's not assume that everything will be. .

Oh, it looks so pretty, but I was so waiting to get a OFB type of EP. Why did they have to start with travel. This doesn't of course mean I'm not going to buy it, but OFB and pets would have been the best thing ever.

I'm a bit surprised--aren't vacations among the last of the expansions for the past Sim titles? Seems a little backwards....But there's no denying the scenery looks gorgeous so far! I guess I was just hoping for weather to be the first thing to come back.

Well, you never know, they might include it, seeing as how different Areas of the world have different climates.

I noticed that. I REALLY hope that it's just not part of the outfit like in Bon Voyage.

Vacations is the first EP? Geeeze, EA is so brainless.

Those pictures are cool, but not in the least bit exciting to me. My Sims don't take vacations.

I liked BV, I don't see why everyone is hating on it.

Boo, EA! I wish they would finish fixing the issues in the base game first. Dang!

This is true. Now I can picture Sims in the desert having to take cover from sandstorms... Ooh, possibilities. Of course, EA is brainless, though I'm trying to be optimistic in the face of that.

Hmm, I'm not impressed. I hoped for something more useful, Nightlife or OFB. The Sims 3 has just started, isn't it a bit early to go on vacation?

Well, think. It's a seamless world, don't you think they would want something that fits perfectly with it first?

What if they are fixing the problems in the base game. And releasing it with this new EP?

You know, I had a feeling that the first expansion pack was going to be like this. still, it's slightly better than what I had envisioned. i was thinking it was going to be like the bon voyage EP for sims 2....which was fail. :p

for those who didn't have that, it was basically just your sims at hotels, and they didn't even have their own assigned rooms...they just slept in whatever bed was closest to them. the only thing I liked about it was the fact that you had pirates, ninjas and fire dancers from which you could have your sims learn new moves, gestures, etc.

At least this time around my sims won't be confined to an hotel with an lakeside view.

I'm really hoping for elves and magic in the next ep!

Elves and Magic? Doubtful. So far every Magic EP has been released last.

Interesting, this is out of order from their usual progression. Vacations weren't the biggest part of my game, but BV did bring swimmable water, if I recall correctly. Hope that's the same case with this.

Full blown magic, maybe not. But it would be interesting if they brushed upon the supernatural a little bit. Every region has it's own folklore and superstition, after all. Imagine, Sims having the chance of a "cursed" moodlet from exploring the tombs...Beware the curse of Tutankhsimmun! XD

That would be pretty cool. I personally wanna see them add more to build and buy. if they give us sand that actually looks like sand, I'll be happy! .

@ aurora moon: they did have assigned rooms. when you first arrived, you chose the rooms you wanted.

The only kind of magic I see returning is the lamp of alladin with the genie in it. Possibly a flying carpet too. I don't know what kind of magic elements they could bring from the other regions. Ninjas are not magic.
