Stop it. I know exactly what I'm talking about. The value you're referring to, the kMaxFloorLevel constant in the Gameplay.Core.LotManager class, can only be modified with a CORE mod. Yes, the modification is as easy as changing the constant value from 5 to any number, but making Core mods is not as easy as it seems. Furthermore, only one core mod can exist at the same time (sans exceptions like ErrorTrap) so a lot of people who use AwesomeMod, for example, won't be able to use a mod that only exists to change this value.

You can put down a frieze and then shape it as a ‘fake floor’. There’s also one additional way of manipulating that frieze level so you get rooms, but it gets super complicated.

Hmm- I wonder if it would be possible for someone to put this mod in, build the floors, and then exit and remove the mod?

I wonder if there might be a chance to work with NRAAS and make this mod NRAAS-compatible?

It wouldn't be a problem to make it compatible with NRaas Mods as all of them are compatible with core mods.

I honestly don't know what would happen if you change the number of floors, make something, and then remove the core mod. For all we know, you wouldn't even be able to load the save file or the game would crash.

That's a contradiction. If it's hard coded, but you can change it with a core mod, how hard coded is it really?

I suggest you actually look up the definition of constant and hard-coded in programming. Constants or hard-coded values are those that cannot be changed unless you modify the source code, which is what you do with a core mod. If it wasn't hard-coded, you'll be able to change it with an XML / ITUN mod. I'm not going to argue anymore. This is Programming 101 so you either go and do some research or shut up. At this point, it feels like you're trolling or being obnoxious on purpose.

I'm being no more obnoxious than you're being condescending, so carry on.

But now for the overdue change of topic:

Well, I never buy anything from sites like eBay period. But I would treat something that could, in the worst case, break and explode with extra caution. I don't know if there are hardware retailers in your country or area, be it online or brick and mortar, but I'd definitely refer to someplace you can easily consult in case something goes wrong. I bought something online from overseas ONCE in my life and despite my best efforts, I never got my product or a refund. Somewhere in Colorado, someone owes me €62 or a sealed copy of The Sims 3's Collector's Edition. Sure, I also failed to secure a copy of The Sims 4's Collectors Edition despite going to a brick and mortar retail store, but that only cost me €10 and a few annoying phone calls.

Having worked in a specialist computer store I would immediately recommend ReplaceDirect were it not for the fact that I just discovered it's a Dutch-only site that doesn't sell to other countries. I'm assuming your warranty's well expired? Your laptop's manufacturer might still be able to provide you with replacement parts, it's just that you'll be paying for them.

Yeah, but a OEM replacement battery is $120. eBay sells them $12. Though I hear horror stories too. There are also 3rd party OEM batteries on eBay for $30, maybe a fair compromise?

I mean, do some vetting on the seller, their contact methods and any protection you might have from eBay itself and it might still be a good idea. But I'd still be cautious about it the same way I'm personally cautious about all third-party components. Even stuff like phone chargers.

I just hope the battery won't literally blow up.

Generally speaking I find that goes for many things, not just batteries.

@AGuyCalledPi @Naus Allen

Why not just make the mod for say, 10 floors, and toss it up on the modding subforum to test out?

I've been trying to get him to post here for days but I think his ego won't let him, haha. I relate to that on some level.
