You could give them makeovers with SimPE - extract them from the game, load them in Body Shop, beautify them, and lastly replace the old versions with the new versions. SimPE offers a surgery option for this, it lets you paste a sim's look onto another sim. It's much more complicated than using the surgery machine in game, but if you're going to do this for only a couple of sims and not the whole townie pool it would be an alternative, I think!

Thanks everyone, I love to read your comments! :lovestruc

I have Uni now - yay! I've given most of the Pleasantview townies new looks (Goopy, Kennedy, Benjamin, Sandy...) I just have one other question - if you change their facial structure, does it change their genetics, or will their kids look like the parent did pre-facelift? I was just asking because I'm the kind of simmer that loves having pretty sims.

Wonderful - all of them needed a makeover pretty badly ... *LOL*

Surgery does NOT change genetics - but it's possible to MAKE these changes genetic if you use this tutorial:

I've tried it before and it worked just fine - the kids inherited the parents' new faces instead of the old ones!

I followed all the instructions (deleted all necessary items...) but the faces still don't show up in CAS....is there maybe something I'm forgetting?

The file here still hangs up on "corrupted packages" around #22, and it didn't give me faces 1-5 at all (maybe that was deliberate?), but I don't need to go after those others. The fifteen or so good replacements I got here will clean up my Townies for sure!

Contemplating making Golden Sun stuff for TS2.

That is so weird - did you try redownloading them? I just tested the file and downloaded it myself, and it included all the faces and didn't give me any errors when I unzipped it. I uploaded them to a small German sims forum as well, so in case you're willing to try again you can get them here:

Does other custom content work in your game? Do you have any other face templates installed which might conflict with these? You could try and put them into your SavedSims folder - I don't know why, but sometimes this helps!

Why is this not in the featured section?? This is the most wonderful thing that has happened to my SIMS2 game! Thank you! Thank you! No more ugly SIMS! No more spending soooo much time creating townies and exporting them as townies to replace the ones that were there. I can't compliment you enough on this! Wonderful!!

Oh, you're so sweet - thank you so much! :lovestruc I'm so happy that these faces are such a great addition to your game ...

Just wondering, I was looking at the pictures of this set and your previous one...and some of the maxis faces look different for the same number! Have I just missed something or what?

Love these thanks!

I used default skintones and eyes for the Maxis shots in this set, that might be the reason why some faces look slightly different. They're still the same, though - I wish the ugly Maxis faces changed by themselves after some time ... *LOL*

You said that these won't affect the townies already in game, but I was wondering... Is there a way to just reset the faces in existing neighborhoods instead of making a new neighborhood and starting all over?

I'm afraid there isn't - apart from surgery. You could play beauty surgeon and perform surgery on your ugly townies, either by shaping their faces yourself or by simply replacing their faces with the new templates. In most cases it's not hard to tell which Maxis face templates they are - the Maxis faces may be hideous, but at least they are easily distinguishable ...

I've been trying out several replacement faces and found negative stuff about them, but I really think there are keepers. Much nicer than the buttugly Maxis ones and not with any weird stuff that only looks good with a lot of CC on it. Thanks for sharing!

Sincerely,

Thanks so much, you guys!

@ksinclair878: There are several possible solutions in this thread where other people were having problems as well. Did they work for you? If they didn't, what exactly is the problem?

I could use some help with this XD I downloaded these faces b/c I LOVE the look of them, but once I got them downloaded and opened up BS they looked NOTHING like the pics do, in fact they still look alot like(if not exactly like) the original faces. I went through and read all the directions, and deleted everything it said to delete(group.cache, CASThumbnails, etc.) but with no luck I went through my downloads folder and made sure all my old face templates were gone, and even resorted to removing my entire downloads folder except for the faces. *sigh* Any help would be much appreciated I REALLY want to use these faces.

I'm sure many people here understand Maxis' goal in making a diversity of face structures, but no one could have predicted the added freak factor. I often wonder how they could have released the game with faces like that. Thank you so much for the altered files. Much needed!

I think I might dl these even though I have very little room or processing power, just because I'm entirely sick of those fugly, fugly #6 and #25 faces. I'm telling myself that it's ok, even though I know that some people IRL are just...."unfortunate looking". And that's ok! But I don't have to deal with it in my game.

Now I bet I can even get Kennedy Cox to look ok. >.>

And it's gone, baby, gone.

I don't know why, but for some people the faces only work when they're put in the SavedSims folder. Just move them from your Downloads folder to the SavedSims folder and see if that works! *keeping my fingers crossed for you*

Lovely templates, Selzi. I've been debating using them because I'm working on templates of my own, but I love your older set, and with this one you include the full set for #21 and #25. I have a question though, which I haven't found answered anywhere else on MTS2 or MATY. You put all the ages/genders for each template in one package. I've seen this mentioned elsewhere but no one says how to do it. Care to help me with this?

I have a little question
If I started my game from scratch, like deleted my sims 2 folder (the one in my documents)
but I put the CAS templated in my game before I started it up, would the new templated show up?

I found this post/thread while actually searching to see if other people were having any issues with some of their children suddenly being born very ....fugly. since going to Seasons. I've been playing for 3 years, but FINALLY got Seasons for Christmas. Since then I've had a few very very ugly kids from normal sim parents, all with the same issue, that they appear to be missing their chins. Weird.

ANYWAY, this is my question, since no one mentioned this, I've only seen mention of totally wiping out neighborhoods (not happening in my case, as my game has been around for too long to want to start over), or surgery, which makes them prettier, but doesn't change the actual genetics. Under the BoolProp, Spawn, there is an NPC generator with the option to "Kill all Townies" and "Create New Townies" including the special Nightlife and Seasons NPCs. (finally, the question) If I KILL all the townies using this spawn object, the game should regenerate NEW townies, with these new features... right?? This sounds like the easiest way to get the new townies with your features.

But before I go through this process in each of my 4 neighborhoods, I'd love to know if someone familiar with the Spawn objects thinks this might work... Thanks!
